Snake Tide
As far as the eye could see, a vast, strange "tide" surged over the buildings enclosed by blue corrugated-metal walls. Like water flowing around a reef, it didn't even touch the stones along the walls before spreading toward the Morudi tribe's warriors.
"Snakes!~"
The Morudi warriors at the very front slammed on the brakes, halting their full-speed charge. Like women who'd been violated, they let out piercing screams.
The tribal warriors who had already neared the low blue corrugated-metal walls stared in terror at the "snake tide" rushing toward them. Their horrified wails rose one after another.
Even more terrifyingly, there were so many snakes, all moving at different speeds, that they churned into horrifying waves.
Hundreds and thousands of snakes, large and small, were squeezed together and tumbled forward. Every so often, one was flung into the air.
The Morudi tribe's leader, Chaganma, stared wide-eyed in disbelief.
How—how could there be so many snakes?
Where had they all come from?
The entire tribe's all-out assault came to an abrupt halt more than thirty meters from the corrugated-metal walls.
"Divine punishment! Divine punishment! This is divine punishment! Heaven is going to destroy the Morudi! No!~"
The Morudi tribe's Great Wizard wailed in anguish from behind them.
So many snakes had not only stopped the attack; they were also punishment for the tribe.
"Ah!~"
Someone failed to dodge in time and was swept up by the snake swarm.
In the blink of an eye, seven or eight snakes were clinging tightly to him, biting down and refusing to let go. He screamed and rolled across the ground. Whether the snakes were venomous or not, at a moment like this, he was surely doomed.
"Ah!~"
Screams from those bitten by snakes rose one after another.
Some began to retreat.
"Damn
