Prisoner Detention
The speaker was neither of the two Chinese foreign affairs personnel, nor Li Bai and Zhou Xueyan, and even less so Jamie Chen, whose thoughts had just been exposed.
The voice came from the end of the corridor.

Li Bai glanced over and saw a rather ill-fitting suit.
Although it had been neatly arranged and the colors matched reasonably well, it was still obvious that the pieces had not originally been a set. They had been hastily cobbled together, and there was some discord between them.
He had probably picked it up somewhere and forced it onto himself.
A suit was best made to measure. Unless someone was naturally built to wear clothes, it would be more or less ill-fitting. One stripped from someone else was bound to look awkward.
"You're the new guy?"
The man had slicked his hair straight back with meticulous care, using water to help it hold its shape.
"You're being detained here?"
Li Bai did not answer his question. Instead, he threw out another one.
The man in the ill-fitting suit froze, then slowly nodded. "That's right! We're prisoners here!"
"All of them are like these?"
Li Bai pointed at the two men in the corridor. The Black Giant alone occupied nearly half its width.
