Chapter 1760 - Rescue
"There's nothing for you here, Troy! Chemise, you—no, what are you hiding?"
Yuri Yegorov was terrifying when he got serious. A faint green light seemed to flicker deep in his pupils. With a soft click, the cylinder of his M500 revolver swung open, ready for action.
The others all turned to look. Some were bewildered, some gleeful, some watched indifferently, and others looked uncertain.
In an instant, everyone's gaze converged on Chemise and Vera. The two of them tensed up at once. This was not a good sign.
"Don't be afraid. I'm here!"
Chemise shielded Vera behind him. He and the Latin Girl were both armed with AA-12 automatic shotguns loaded with specialized dumdum rounds, the kind that expanded on impact. They blew zombies apart like watermelons, blasting them into four or five pieces with a single shot.
Boom!
The pile of junk blocking the storeroom entrance suddenly burst apart without warning. Debris flew into every corner of the storeroom.
The sudden commotion drew the attention of all ten Saint Candidates, and the tense atmosphere vanished.
"Stick 'em up! Men to the left, women to the right, and anyone who's neither in the middle!"
"Open fire!"
The shout from the storeroom entrance rang out at the same time as the voice of one of the Saint Candidates. Everyone reflexively squeezed their triggers.
Almost simultaneously, deafening gunfire erupted.
Chemise, who had just been facing off against the others; Yuri Yegorov, the sorcerer; and Troy Max, who believed he was standing up for justice—all of them opened fire at the storeroom entrance.
Sparks flew from the area around the storeroom door and the remnants of the piled-up junk. Bullets ricocheted everywhere, leaving the place riddled with holes and horribly mangled.
