Those giant Mutated Bombardier Beetles, despite being the primary targets, posed no great threat. They were not even very fast, and the six M252 81 mm mortars, guided by drones, blasted them all to pieces almost immediately. The few that slipped through still could not escape being shot by NTW-20 heavy-caliber rifles until blue flames poured from their bodies. Their massive forms were reduced to indistinguishable ashes in the blink of an eye.
Although the zombies surrounding the oasis were numerous, Automatic Weapons, thermite grenades, and similar weapons were enough to keep them from reaching the hastily erected defensive position.
Weapons of every caliber spewed scorching flames. The most eye-catching were the heavy machine guns. Wherever their fierce, razor-sharp tracer fire passed, flesh flew everywhere, mowing down and even tearing apart the swarming zombies.
The people Diana had brought had entered the battle long ago. Even the Dragon Knight Order's people had joined in of their own accord. They had no choice but to participate. If they could not hold the position, nobody would leave this place alive. They had to fight with everything they had if they wanted to survive.
Even so, the number of people defending the position did not exceed three hundred.
Boom!
A fireball rose slowly into the air, sending countless flames splashing in every direction and engulfing more than ten zombies that had failed to dodge.
The flames rapidly spread among the frantically running zombies, expanding into an even larger sea of fire.
When the Saint's Association had prepared the defenses, they had taken extra precautions. They had not only dug numerous pits to trap feet in the ground, but also moved many barrels of gasoline and high-purity alcohol from the secret laboratory's storeroom. They had added thermite fuel and scattered everything throughout the oasis.
