With the same Way of the Scholar, the perfected version has the advantage over the imperfect one."
The former took priority over the latter.
Most Ways of the Scholar had two stages.
The imperfect stage granted one ability; the perfected stage strengthened it or gave rise to another. Since Luan Xin's Way of the Scholar was imperfect, he could only copy the old geezer's ability in its imperfect state.
