Bidding Farewell to the Old and Welcoming the New-Welcome, 2023! (A New Year's Letter to My Readers)

Amid the crackle of firecrackers, one year came to an end; the spring breeze brought warmth to the Tu Su wine.

From every door and window, the rising sun shone bright; always, the new peachwood charms replaced the old.

Well, setting off firecrackers isn't allowed anymore, but we can still pay our New Year's respects. So, early New Year's greetings to all my dears!

I wish everyone a new year filled with good fortune and fulfilled wishes. May students ace their exams and have smooth sailing in their studies; may working folks find success in their careers and happiness at home. And I'd also like to wish people like me, who struggle to lose weight, success in squeezing into a size S this year!

All right, according to the event schedule, it's time to look back on last year. What I most want to say is that a thousand words of gratitude can be summed up in a bow: thank you all for putting up with Shiitake's sporadic updates last year.

A lot happened in 2022.

On the family front, Shiitake got pregnant at the beginning of the year.

The early stages of the pregnancy were a little uncertain, so my updates went from two chapters a day to one. The thing is, this year I received Yuewen's New Year's gift, which said I'd written 1.072 million characters without missing a beat. I'm embarrassed. That's not the output a full-time author should have. (But one chapter a day really is so relaxing. It's easy to go from frugality to extravagance, but hard to go back again.
