For a moment, her gaze met four pairs of eyes: a father and his son inside.

Bai Su saluted Xun Zhen. "Greetings, Military Advisor Xun."

Xun Zhen returned the salute. "My Lord ordered me to see this person off. I didn't expect the commotion to alarm General Bai."

Bai Su accepted only half of Xun Zhen's salute.

By then, Miao Shu was in so much pain that her insides felt as if they were burning. Her limbs spasmed, her head throbbed as if it would split, and the veins in her forehead bulged one by one.
