If he hadn't been holding himself back, he would have grabbed Qi Cang by the collar and demanded an explanation. "What do you mean?"
"What do I mean? You tell me."
What Wei Shou feared most was Shen Tang's earlier suspicion coming true. And this was exactly the sort of thing Zheng Qiao, that lunatic, would do. He pointed at Qi Cang and cursed, "You hawk-nosed, owl-eyed bastard. I know you're up to no good. Can you and your old master just act like decent people for once?"
Qi Cang sneered. "Who cares about acting like a person?"
Looking at his old master, half-buried in the pit, his heart was heavy. Their circumstances were so meager that Zheng Qiao hadn't even gotten a coffin, let alone a straw mat. They'd had to hurry him into the earth, where filthy soil touched his body directly. Yet in life, Zheng Qiao had been a fastidious man who couldn't stand the slightest stain. He looked at Zheng Qiao's face and let out a long sigh.
He'd killed plenty of people in his life, but he'd always left the burying to someone else. He'd only built a grave for another person a handful of times. With little experience, he planned to spend some time making Zheng Qiao's grave sturdier.
