"Can you eat integrity for dinner?"
As Qin Guan spoke, he suddenly stood up and came over to Zi Qing. Then he grabbed her arm and coaxed her:
"Come on, Sister Qing, follow me. We'll start with the most basic combat skills. You're not only beautiful, but you've got a good foundation, too. I'm sure you'll learn quickly."
As he spoke, Qin Guan led Zi Qing over to an empty patch of ground off to the side.
After Qin Guan's compliment, Zi Qing was over the moon. She rolled her eyes at him. "You little brat, you've got your big sister feeling pretty good with all that flattery."
Qin Guan chuckled. "Don't get comfortable just yet. This Body Technique of mine won't just make you stronger—it'll make you feel good, body and mind. You'll feel even better in a moment."
When Zi Qing heard him say she'd feel even better, her fair, breathtakingly beautiful cheeks flushed for no apparent reason beneath her purple veil.
"Come on, watch my demonstration first."
Qin Guan took two steps back, stood on the empty ground, and settled into a ready stance.
His feet were shoulder-width apart, his knees slightly bent, and his center of gravity lowered. His upper body leaned forward a little, and his hands hung naturally at his sides.
"The first key to hand-to-hand combat is—stability."
As Qin Guan spoke, he gently rocked his body, shifting his center of gravity back and forth between his feet.
"The steadier your center of gravity, the harder it is for someone to knock you down."
Zi Qing followed along. She already knew the basics Qin Guan was talking about.
"Second, speed."
Just then, Qin Guan suddenly turned sideways, stepped forward with his right foot, and drove his fist toward the empty air at incredible speed.
