Tang San is defined by endurance, revenge, and a determination to protect Xiao Wu and his companions. After Shen Tianyu injures and humiliates him at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eyes, Tang San vows repeatedly to make him pay and dedicates himself to becoming stronger. 13 17

Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eyes

Tang San first encounters Shen Tianyu at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eyes. His Blue Silver Grass, Clear Sky Hammer, Sleeve Arrow, Mysterious Jade Hand, and movement techniques all fail to harm Shen Tianyu, who leaves him severely injured. 1 2

Dugu Bo rescues Tang San and later throws him away to ensure his survival. Tang San subsequently wakes at Shrek Academy, furious that Shen Tianyu ruined his plans to use the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eyes’ treasures for body refinement and hidden weapons. 4 13

Shrek Academy and Flight

After recovering, Tang San defeats Tailong in the Soul Fighting Arena through Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track and Mysterious Jade Hand. The return of Shen Tianyu’s Spiritual Energy presence immediately frightens him, as he had believed Shen Tianyu dead. 15

Shen Tianyu later forces Tang San to kneel and bark while Tang San attempts to protect Yu Xiaogang. This humiliation intensifies Tang San’s resolve to seek revenge. 17

When Shen Tianyu attacks the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s fleeing survivors, Tang San proposes that the group hide in a village cesspit to evade pursuit. 40

Growth, Xiao Wu, and Sea God Island

Tang San leads the surviving Shrek members through ten months of secluded cultivation with Heaven and Earth Soul Stones. The group’s growth allows Tang San and his companions to obtain fourth and fifth soul rings and reach Soul King. 75 76

In the Star Dou Great Forest, Xiao Wu reveals herself as a hundred-thousand-year soul beast and reunites with Tang San. Tang San and Tang Hao then confront Shen Tianyu, but Tang San’s hidden weapons fail and Tang Hao loses an arm. 77

After Shen Tianyu kills several of his allies, Tang San awakens the Blue Silver Emperor and receives the Blue Silver Domain. Poseidon identifies him as the Sea God’s successor and transports him with Tang Hao toward Sea God Island. 99

Losses at Sea God Island

Shen Tianyu massacres Xiaobai’s Demon Soul Great White Shark clan in front of Tang San. Tang San sees Xiaobai’s hundred-thousand-year soul ring remain behind but finds no body. 128

Tang Hao is ultimately killed by Shen Tianyu on Sea God Island, and Tang San vows to heal Tang Chen and avenge his father. Tang Chen is then killed as well, leaving Tang San and Bo Saixi grieving together. 134 135

Poseidon sends Tang San into the ocean during his battle with Shen Tianyu, where Xiao Wu—revived by the Asura Demon Sword—finds him. Tang San confronts his guilt over failing to protect her. 138

Divine Conflict and Resurrection

As Sea God, Tang San challenges Shen Tianyu, but the Sea God’s Trident, armor, and wings are destroyed. He changes to the Asura God position and enters a Berserk state to protect Xiao Wu. 155 156

After exhausting hidden weapons, divine skills, and the Asura Blood Sword, Tang San loses Xiao Wu when Shen Tianyu destroys her soul-body. Shen Tianyu then pierces Tang San’s heart with the Immortal Slaying Sword, killing him despite intervention by Poseidon and the Asura God. 157 159

Tang San later returns to the God Realm in renewed Asura God Armor as a God King. Shen Tianyu humiliates him again, after which Tang San begs the Four God Kings for help and uses their fused power to launch the Three Realms Judgment Sword. 187 188
