"Charge!"
Zhu Zhanjun's command ignited the gunpowder keg.
The three thousand Great Snow Dragon Riders, this massive and precise war machine, instantly switched from stillness to full speed.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The heavy hoofbeats converged into a torrent.
This torrent of black iron armor, without any flashy maneuvers, was the simplest, most direct frontal crush, brutally smashing into the rear of the already utterly chaotic Oirat army.
"Squelch!"
The Oirat soldiers in the front rank didn't even see how the enemy attacked before they were sent flying backward, men and horses alike, by the terrifying impact. Their bodies were already falling apart in mid-air.
Immediately after, gleaming Mo Dao began to swing.
There were no intricate moves, only the simplest, most efficient chops, slashes, and cuts!
The Mo Dao, over ten feet long, felt as light as nothing in the hands of these System-enhanced riders.
Every swing brought forth a tide of blood.
Heads wearing fur caps flew into the sky, and bodies cut in half writhed on the snow.
The warm blood stained the pure white snow a shocking crimson.
This was a slaughter.
A complete, one-sided slaughter.
The Oirats' pride in their archery on horseback was a joke in front of these moving iron monsters.
Their arrows struck the enemy's heavy armor, only producing a series of crisp "ding-ding-dang" sounds, leaving not even a white mark.
But the powerful Mo Dao, with every swing, could easily cleave both man and horse in two.
The hundreds of bait troops in the valley were also playing a huge role at this moment.
They utilized the rapid-fire advantage of the Shenbi Crossbows to suppress the archers on the mountain, preventing them from providing effective fire support to the charging Great Snow Dragon Riders.
Attacked from both front and back, their morale collapsed.
"Run! Run fast! They're devils!"
"We can't stop them! We can't stop them!"
The psychological defenses of the Oirat soldiers were completely shattered in the first encounter.
They threw down their weapons, crying out, and fled desperately in any direction that might offer escape.
The casualties caused by trampling each other were even greater than the direct damage inflicted by the Great Snow Dragon Riders.
"Hold steady! Everyone, hold steady for your Grand Tutor!"
Yesen's eyes were bloodshot. He waved his golden saber, cutting down several personal guards who were trying to flee, and roared at the top of his lungs.
"No retreat! Anyone who dares to retreat will be killed without mercy!"
However, in the face of absolute fear of death, his orders sounded so pale and powerless.
The army collapsed like a mountain.
Watching his army rapidly disintegrate, watching that black army charge back and forth through his ranks as if entering an empty land, Yesen felt endless despair and regret.
He regretted provoking these devils.
He regretted not listening to the Commander of Ten Thousand's advice.
He regretted even more foolishly believing the lies of the Prince Han and the Prince Zhao, thinking he could reap a huge reward.
"Withdraw! Withdraw west! Everyone, withdraw west!"
Yesen finally abandoned all unrealistic fantasies. He turned his horse and, surrounded by his personal guards, fled in a desperate rush towards the only gap, the west side of the valley.
That was an opening Zhu Zhanjun had deliberately left.
Because he knew that cornering the enemy would only make them fight like cornered beasts.
But leaving an opening would completely shatter their will to fight, making them only think of escape.
"Trying to run?"
Zhu Zhanjun looked at Yesen's prominent red dot moving rapidly on the map, a hint of mockery on his face.
"Centurion!"
"Reporting for duty!"
"Take a hundred men, get the 'Soul Chasing Arrows', and follow me!"
Zhu Zhanjun spurred his horse, and the Wuzhui Horse beneath him neighed, charging out, separating from the main force and heading straight for Yesen's escape route.
The so-called "Soul Chasing Arrows" were specially made by the System at Zhu Zhanjun's request – a lighter, longer-range crossbow bolt designed specifically for pursuit and sniping.
One hundred and one riders, on the chaotic battlefield, cut through the chaos like a black lightning bolt.
Under the desperate protection of hundreds of personal guards, Yesen frantically whipped his warhorse, wanting only to get as far away from that hellscape as possible.
He could hear the screams from behind him growing sparser, and a sliver of hope rose in his heart.
However, just then, a sharp whistling sound cut through the air from behind him!
"Protect the Grand Tutor!"
A personal guard roared and threw himself behind Yesen.
"Pfft!"
A black crossbow bolt pierced his armor with ease, emerging from his chest.
Immediately after, dozens more crossbow bolts accurately shot towards the personal guards surrounding Yesen.
Screams erupted one after another.
The guards around Yesen fell from their horses one by one.
"Grand Tutor, hurry and escape!"
The last few personal guards, their eyes bloodshot, turned their horses and charged fearlessly towards the pursuing hundred-plus riders, attempting to buy even a sliver of escape time for Yesen with their lives.
However, their actions seemed laughable and pathetic in front of Zhu Zhanjun.
