Seidoukan Academy had a total of three school buildings.
The Middle School Department, Senior High Department, and University Department each had their own separate buildings, surrounding a vast central courtyard. With the student dormitories and other facilities included, the entire campus covered an enormous area, larger even than some aristocratic academies outside the city.
Azer walked through the largest of them, the Senior High School Building, passing students who had yet to leave.
His destination was the top floor of this building.
There was an office there.
It was the Student Council Office.
"I should have the right place, right?"
Standing before the doors to the Student Council Office, Azer gathered his thoughts before reaching out and pressing the doorbell beside it.
"Beep beep—"
As a completely black video window unfolded in midair, Azer heard a voice.
"Hello. How may I help you?"
It was a cold mechanical voice, undoubtedly a pre-programmed automated response system.
Azer raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Pretty advanced..."
After muttering that, Azer gave a concise reply.
"I'm Azer, a first-year Senior High student. I'm here to apply for permission to use a Pure Star Radiant Armament."
After Azer spoke, the window fell silent for a moment.
"Please come in."
A little while later, another voice came from the window.
Unlike the automated program from before, this voice carried unmistakable emotion.
It was sweet, yet possessed an indescribable calmness and composure.
"Whoosh!"
The automatic doors before Azer slid open, revealing a space so expansive that no one would have imagined it was a Student Council Office.
Azer paused briefly before walking inside.
The floor was covered in dark brown carpeting, the room furnished with a full set of leather tables and chairs for receiving guests, while paintings of Seidoukan Academy's distant scenery hung on the walls. It looked exceptionally lavish.
At the far end of the office, the wall had been replaced by a massive glass window, offering a bird's-eye view of the city streets below, as though he were looking down at a gigantic model.
Before the glass window stood a heavy oak desk.
Behind it sat a girl.
She was a girl with dazzling golden hair.
Her golden hair was not smooth and straight, but curled in large waves. She exuded an air of calm steadiness, and her beauty was enough to draw Azer's eyes. She was, without a doubt, an absolutely stunning beauty.
"I am Claudia Enfield, Student Council President of Seidoukan Academy."
With a composed smile that perfectly matched her bearing, the girl introduced herself and greeted Azer as he entered.
"Welcome to the Student Council, Azer."
Hearing that, Azer did not respond immediately. Instead, he discreetly appraised her.
So she's Claudia?
Claudia Enfield, president of Seidoukan Academy's Student Council, was also a first-year Senior High student like Azer.
Unlike the "unremarkable" Azer, this girl was exceptionally famous within Seidoukan Academy.
Not only was she the Student Council President, she was also the second-ranked Star Vein Generation at Seidoukan Academy. Her parents were executives of the Integrated Enterprise Foundation known as Galaxy. With strength, beauty, family background, and status all in one, she was the ultimate rich and beautiful young lady—the lofty flower everyone knew of.
At the same time, she was one of the original story's heroines, and her popularity had even surpassed that of its primary heroine for a time.
For Azer, meeting her here was equivalent to seeing a real-life heroine from a fictional world. It was deeply significant.
Fortunately, Azer had prepared himself mentally before coming here and did not make a fool of himself.
"Hello, President Enfield."
Azer gave a slight bow and faced Claudia with the same calm demeanor.
"Just call me Claudia." Apparently unaware of Azer's earlier thoughts, she smiled politely. "I've already received the report. You're here to apply for the right to use a Pure Star Radiant Armament, correct?"
"Yes." Azer nodded. "I heard that any student at the academy can theoretically apply to the Student Council for permission to use a Pure Star Radiant Armament."
"So I'd like to trouble you, President."
Pure Star Radiant Armaments were, in fact, like Huang-style Armaments: transformable energy weapons powered by the Omni-Response Element.
The difference was that the core of a Huang-style Armament was made from Omni-Response Ore, while the core of a Pure Star Radiant Armament was an Omni-Response Crystal.
This was a crystal of far greater purity than Omni-Response Ore and exceedingly rare. Not only did it contain an amount of energy ordinary Omni-Response Ore could never hope to match, it also possessed certain special abilities.
Pure Star Radiant Armaments created with Omni-Response Crystals as their cores were not only far more powerful than ordinary Huang-style Armaments, but also possessed those special abilities, granting a tremendous boost to their users' combat strength.
Knowing this, Azer had naturally set his sights on these Pure Star Radiant Armaments.
Unfortunately...
"Indeed, in theory, every student is qualified to apply to the academy to borrow a Pure Star Radiant Armament."
Claudia nodded first, then changed the direction of her words.
"However, as a student of this academy, Azer, you should understand that this is only true in theory, shouldn't you?"
That was right. It was only true in theory.
In reality, obtaining a Pure Star Radiant Armament from the academy was nowhere near as easy as obtaining a Huang-style Armament.
"Unlike ordinary Huang-style Armaments, Pure Star Radiant Armaments are exceptionally special and extremely scarce, so most of them are directly managed by the Integrated Enterprise Foundation."
"The Integrated Enterprise Foundation merely provides a portion of its Pure Star Radiant Armaments to the various academies for Star Vein Generation students to borrow and use. Students only have usage rights, not ownership. Ownership still belongs to the Integrated Enterprise Foundation."
"And one of their main reasons for doing this is actually to collect usage data on Pure Star Radiant Armaments."
"After all, unlike ordinary Huang-style Armaments, Pure Star Radiant Armaments choose their own masters. Not just anyone can use them."
Claudia's words contained a great deal of information, but Azer had already known it all beforehand.
It was said that every Pure Star Radiant Armament possessed a self and an independent consciousness, choosing its own master.
Without receiving a Pure Star Radiant Armament's recognition, one could not use it.
As Claudia patiently explained things to Azer, she also tactfully made her point.
"Although every student can apply to borrow a Pure Star Radiant Armament, the academy's screening process is extremely strict due to their value, rarity, and the uncertainty surrounding their use, among other factors."
"If someone ranks highly within the academy or has shown outstanding performance in the Star Martial Festival, their application is comparatively likely to be approved."
"But as for you, Azer... I don't think your application will be easily approved."
"Even so, do you still wish to apply?"
Upon hearing this, Azer knew that the Student Council President of Seidoukan Academy before him had already learned all about his background.
Perhaps she had already looked into his records before he entered.
She knew Azer's grades at Seidoukan Academy. She knew that, given how "ordinary" he was, even if he submitted an application here, it would likely vanish without a trace.
But Azer had already known that as well.
"Please help me submit the application."
Azer spoke those words with complete calmness.
"Very well." Claudia saw that Azer had no intention of giving up, so she nodded and said with a smile, "I'll submit the application in the Student Council's name. You may go back and wait for news."
"Thank you." Azer gave Claudia another slight bow, then turned around, presenting his back to her.
Because of that, Claudia did not see Azer's eyes suddenly flash after he turned away.
To the slightest degree, he suddenly activated the power of the authority within his body.
"—"
In an instant, a fluctuation of power impossible for humans to perceive emerged from Azer's body.
"Hmm?"
At that exact moment, Claudia's expression changed slightly, her previously calm smile still on her face.
