Ch. 302The Powerful Eternal Spear

Azer used Gungnir to kill Poseidon, then claimed the sea god’s Trident as his Exclusive Armament and gained control over the sea. He failed to summon another god with Dominion Radiance and decided to seek out gods himself.

  • Poseidon fled through the ocean, but Gungnir pursued and fatally pierced him despite his attempts to escape.
  • Azer absorbed Poseidon’s divine body with the Ring of Usurpation and gained power to strengthen his Curse Power.
  • Azer chose Poseidon’s Trident as his authority, bound it as his Exclusive Armament, and gained the ability to control the sea.
  • Azer tried to summon another god with Dominion Radiance, but the attempt failed because the gods had become wary.
  • Azer sank into the sea to find gods rather than summon them.

Ch. 303Which Point in Time?

Azer returned from Nemo Point, discovered that the Trident let him command marine life, and settled into his cramped Tokyo apartment. After Kasu Tōma delivered the Committee for the Compilation of True History’s records on gods, Azer spotted a deliberate omission that helped him determine when the original story was taking place.

  • Azer swam back from Nemo Point and found that the Trident let him command marine creatures, though he wondered how powerful the ability was.
  • Azer returned to his cramped apartment near Tokyo Tower and decided he would need a better place for a long-term stay.
  • Kasu Tōma visited Azer at Mariya Yuri’s suggested time and delivered the Committee for the Compilation of True History’s information about gods and divine beasts.
  • Azer read the records and noticed that they contained very little information about gods appearing in Japan.
  • Azer realized the Committee had concealed information about a sealed Heretic God and used the omission to confirm the point in time of the original story.

Ch. 304It Had to Be Done

Azer learned that the god on Sardinia had not yet been slain and decided to kill it himself rather than let the awkward original protagonist become a Godslayer. As Japan’s Cursed Arts World worried about what Azer might want there, he left the country for Sardinia, where two gods awaited him.

  • Azer learned that Sardinia showed signs of a Heretic God’s descent and recognized it as the beginning of the original protagonist’s story.
  • Azer decided to travel to Sardinia and take the god’s kill, believing he would spare the protagonist an unwanted life as a Godslayer.
  • Mariya Yuri warned Saya Miyakano and Kasu Tōma that Azer would cause a major disturbance in Japan because he wanted something there.
  • Saya Miyakano explained that the Committee would try to satisfy Azer and avoid provoking him, while Mariya Yuri considered using clairvoyance if necessary.
  • After resting and spending his remaining money, Azer left Japan for Sardinia, where two gods awaited him.

Ch. 305A Greeting First Would Be Nice

Azer arrived in Sardinia to investigate the reports of a god’s descent and learned that two injured gods had fought there. Knowing he could not gain their Authorities while they were weakened, he released his Curse Power to draw out an enemy, and a boy sensed him and approached.

  • Azer flew to Cagliari, reviewed reports of strange storms and giant animals across Sardinia, and considered which Italian Magic Societies were investigating.
  • Azer recalled that two gods had fought in Sardinia and were both badly injured, so killing either one would not let him gain its Authority.
  • Azer decided to wait for the gods to recover and released his Curse Power to announce his presence to them.
  • A boy near Duomo Cathedral sensed Azer’s power, welcomed the prospect of a worthy opponent, and walked toward him.
  • Azer sensed the boy approaching and looked toward him as the boy advanced down the street.

Ch. 306The Boy and the Girl

Azer met an amnesiac youth who embodied victory and challenged him to a fight, but the youth chose to recover his full strength first. Erica Brandelli, a Great Knight of the Bronze Black Cross, arrived to investigate the suspected Heretic God and demanded that both men accompany her.

  • Azer greeted the youth and challenged him, recognizing that they shared an aura through the authority of victory associated with Gungnir.
  • The youth welcomed Azer's challenge but said he would first recover his missing incarnations and full strength.
  • Erica Brandelli confronted the youth, citing reports that he had appeared near Divine Beast manifestations across Sardinia.
  • Erica asked the suspicious youth and Azer to accompany her while she investigated the Heretic God on the island.
  • Erica introduced herself as a Great Knight of the Bronze Black Cross and corrected Azer when he called her an ordinary knight.

Ch. 307Better Change Back?

Erica Brandelli challenged Azer after a mysterious young man connected to the Heretic God vanished, but Azer effortlessly overcame her magic and gravity powers. As Erica demanded to know who he was, a world-shaking explosion erupted nearby.

  • Erica summoned Lion King's Heart and attacked the young man, who vanished as wind and warned her to leave before trouble arrived.
  • Erica turned on Azer, but he dodged her sword strikes and remained unharmed when her blue flames exploded against him.
  • Erica transformed her sword into steel lions and sent them after Azer, who crushed them with a powerful gravity field and forced Erica to the ground.
  • Erica escaped the gravity field with Hermes' Boots and asked Azer who he was, but he teased her about changing back.
  • A world-shaking explosion erupted in the direction Azer looked.

Ch. 308That Belongs to Someone Else

A Divine Beast in the form of a gigantic Boar rampaged through Cagliari until an unseen force lifted and cut it apart. Azer rescued Erica and told her the Boar belonged to someone else; afterward, Erica explained that the Magic Society had concealed the disaster from the public.

  • A gigantic Boar erupted from the ground in Cagliari and began destroying the city, targeting Azer as Erica confronted him.
  • Azer grabbed Erica and carried her into the air, allowing the Boar to charge beneath them.
  • Erica resolved to stop the Boar and protect the civilians, but Azer said its owner was coming to reclaim it.
  • A tornado lifted the Boar, and a golden flash sliced it apart, turning its body into sand that the wind carried away.
  • Azer and Erica watched the ruined streets and fleeing civilians after the attack ended.
  • At a restaurant, Erica told Azer that the local Magic Society had covered up the Divine Beast attack, and Azer said the matter had nothing to do with him.

Ch. 309Military God Who Controls Victory

Azer confirmed to Erica that Verethragna had descended on Sardinia, where his scattered incarnations were being reclaimed after a battle with a second god. Erica realized both gods were badly wounded, but warned that Sardinia would face disaster when they recovered.

  • Erica followed Azer along the Cagliari waterfront and pressed him for information about the gods and the mysterious boy.
  • Erica identified the Sardinian Disobedient God as Verethragna from the appearances of his incarnations, and Azer confirmed her conclusion.
  • Erica questioned why Verethragna’s incarnations seemed to be fighting one another, and Azer explained that they were scattered parts of the god being reclaimed.
  • Azer revealed that Verethragna had summoned a second Disobedient God, and their battle had caused the abnormal celestial phenomenon over Sardinia.
  • Erica deduced that both gods had been badly wounded and were recovering; Azer confirmed that Sardinia would be endangered again once they regained their strength.

Ch. 310Let You See the World

Erica Brandelli sought to earn the Crimson Devil title by sealing the gods on Sardinia, but Azer warned her that the two gods were beyond her ability to handle. When Erica continued following him, Azer took her toward Oristano to show her something firsthand.

  • Erica explained that she had come to Sardinia to gain the achievements and prestige needed to inherit the Crimson Devil title, but feared that two supreme gods had manifested there.
  • Erica pressed Azer for information about the unknown god and the boy who had been with him, but Azer told her to return to Milan and said Italy's King was the better choice.
  • The next morning, Erica waited outside Azer's hotel and followed him, insisting she would not flee before a battle.
  • Erica told Azer that the Bronze Black Cross's Clairvoyant Artificers had sensed Curse Power gathering near Dorgali, and mentioned that Liliana Kranjčar might have stronger Spirit Vision.
  • Azer said he was going to Oristano rather than Dorgali, then grabbed Erica and used Shunpo to carry her into the sky.

Ch. 311The Temple Beneath the Ruins

Azer brought Erica to the ancient ruins at Taros, where they discovered an underground temple and sensed the presence of a Disobedient God. They reached the temple’s end, where Azer prepared to face the hidden threat.

  • Azer carried Erica from Oristano to the Saint Basti Ruins near Taros, ignoring her complaints and attack.
  • Azer pointed out a concealed cave entrance beneath weeds and fallen stones, identifying it as the temple entrance.
  • Azer explained that an ancient settlement’s spiritual power could have drawn a Disobedient God to use the site as a temporary base.
  • Erica followed Azer into the damp underground temple despite her instincts warning her to flee.
  • Azer led Erica through the branching passages to the end of the temple.

Ch. 312Not My Match

Erica and Azer reached Mekal in the deepest part of the Underground Temple and learned that a Golden Sword had gravely wounded the God King. Mekal summoned his Locusts and challenged Azer, but Azer declared that the weakened god was no match for him.

  • Erica saw Mekal, a towering God King with a Golden Sword embedded in his chest, and felt overwhelmed by his divine presence.
  • Azer calmly identified Mekal, who revealed himself as the king of the island, land, and waters.
  • Mekal recognized Azer as a godslayer and explained that the Golden Sword suppressed his divinity and Authorities.
  • Mekal invited Azer to attack while he was weakened, then summoned swarms of Locusts to devour the intruders.
  • Azer remained unmoved and told Mekal that, in his current condition, he was not Azer's match.

Ch. 313Evolving Zanpakuto

Azer used Ryūjin Jakka and Hyōrinmaru to destroy Mekal’s Death Swarm, freeze his divine tools, and suppress the weakened god before striking him with Shinso’s Bankai. After rescuing Erica from the collapsing Underground Temple, Azer left her to recognize him as the Seventh King.

  • Azer unleashed Ryūjin Jakka’s flames and burned Mekal’s Death Swarm to ash.
  • Mekal summoned Yagrush and Aymur, but Azer froze the clubs and the Underground Temple with Hyōrinmaru’s power.
  • Azer activated Shinso’s Bankai, God Killing Spear, and pierced Mekal, sending him through the frozen spring water.
  • Azer carried Erica out with Sonido as the Underground Temple collapsed completely.
  • Erica knelt before Azer and greeted him as the King after realizing he was the Seventh King from the Far East.

Ch. 314It Was a Complete Joke

After witnessing a god, Erica’s confidence in her own talent and strength collapsed, and she asked Azer what would happen to Sardinia. Azer explained that Mekal had escaped and that he intended to wait until Mekal and Verethragna recovered before fighting them, leaving Erica to plead for the island’s people.

  • Azer asked Erica what she thought after seeing a true Heretic God, and she admitted that humans could not oppose gods through talent or training alone.
  • Erica realized that Azer’s presence had saved her from being devoured by the Locusts and asked what had happened to God King Mekal.
  • Azer said Mekal had escaped with only a minor wound and explained that he wanted to fight both gods at their peak.
  • Erica worried that a battle between Azer, Mekal, and Verethragna could devastate Sardinia and pleaded with Azer to protect its people.
  • Azer replied that Sardinia was in Salvatore Doni’s territory and that Doni should protect its people.

Ch. 315Serving That King

Erica spoke with her uncle Paul Brandelli about the gods and Godslayer on Sardinia and the danger of waiting for them to recover. Paul advised her to serve Azer as a follower and accept the king’s decisions, leaving Erica resolved to obey.

  • Erica told Paul that she regretted her performance and feared she was no match for gods or Godslayers, and Paul reassured her that she could still grow as a human and knight.
  • Erica described the wounded Verethragna and Mekal, their conflict, and Azer’s presence on Sardinia; Paul judged the immediate situation manageable but agreed the gods could recover and threaten the island.
  • Erica asked whether Salvatore Doni could arrive in time, and Paul said Italy’s king was already traveling to Sardinia but might not make it before the situation worsened.
  • Erica told Paul that Azer intended to wait until both gods recovered before capturing them, and Paul understood his choice but warned her not to try to influence or anger him.
  • Paul instructed Erica to serve Azer as a follower, accept his decisions, and use her wisdom, and Erica agreed.

Ch. 316The Finest Treatment

As Sardinia’s skies darkened, Azer explained that the wounded Mekal was fighting harder and speeding his recovery, while Verethragna was reclaiming his incarnations. Azer expected war once Verethragna recovered the White Horse and ordered Erica to prepare for the civilians’ evacuation.

  • Azer left his hotel room as abnormal darkness spread over Sardinia, and Erica explained that the Bronze Black Cross had arranged lavish accommodations and service for him.
  • While dining, Azer told Erica that Mekal’s injuries had awakened his battle spirit and that the storm reflected his active power.
  • Erica reported that the Goat and Phoenix incarnations had appeared in Dorgali before a Golden Sword defeated the Goat and pursued the Phoenix.
  • Azer explained that Verethragna’s Youth incarnation was his current main body and that only the White Horse likely remained to be reclaimed.
  • Azer told Erica to alert him when the White Horse appeared and to organize the civilians’ evacuation before the coming war.

Ch. 317All Are My Prey

Azer left Sardinia to confront the restored gods Mekal and Verethragna, while Erica stayed behind to protect the island and its citizens. When both gods claimed Azer as their prey, he attacked them with the Trident, and the divine battle began.

  • Azer told Erica not to follow him and flew toward the Mediterranean, while Erica resolved to keep Sardinia safe from the battle’s aftermath.
  • Azer encountered Mekal in his restored, towering combat form at sea.
  • Verethragna arrived, and he and Mekal argued over who would fight Azer, each refusing to join forces with the other.
  • Azer declared both gods his prey and raised the Trident, sending a massive surge of seawater at them.
  • Verethragna evaded the waves as a golden phoenix, while Mekal was dragged beneath the sea; Azer then blocked Verethragna’s sudden attack with the Trident.
  • Azer challenged Verethragna, who charged at him, beginning their divine battle.

Ch. 318An Authority That Was Practically Cheating

Azer fought Verethragna, whose incarnations let him attack at Divine Speed, unleash lightning, control waves, and disable mythological weapons with the Golden Sword that Cuts Divinity. Azer summoned Hyōrinmaru, froze the Mediterranean into an icy sea, and struck Verethragna beneath the ice, leaving his fate unknown.

  • Verethragna used his Phoenix incarnation to charge Azer at Divine Speed, but Azer evaded and knocked him away with the Trident.
  • Verethragna chanted Words of Power, fired lightning as the Goat, and controlled Azer's waves with the Youth; Azer deflected the lightning and sent waves at him.
  • Verethragna used the Warrior incarnation and his knowledge of Poseidon's Trident to cut off its divinity and render it powerless.
  • Azer decided not to use other famous mythological weapons and instead summoned his Zanpakuto, Hyōrinmaru.
  • Azer unleashed Hyōrinmaru's immense ice power, froze the Mediterranean, and blasted Verethragna into the frozen sea with a whip kick.

Ch. 319All He Sought Was Victory

Azer continued fighting Verethragna, who healed from a devastating blow and revealed that he sought powerful foes only to defeat them and claim victory. Verethragna attacked with overwhelming force, but Azer trapped him in a massive ice prison.

  • Azer called Verethragna back to the battle, and Verethragna emerged gravely wounded before healing himself with his Shepherd incarnation.
  • Verethragna admitted that he craved powerful opponents so he could overcome them, and Azer argued that he still sought victory above all else.
  • Verethragna transformed into a gale and charged Azer, who blocked him with an ice wall.
  • Verethragna used Bull and Camel to batter Azer with powerful kicks, but Azer evaded with an ice substitute and counterattacked with Hyōrinmaru.
  • Azer froze Verethragna with ice birds and raised pillars around him, sealing him inside the Millennium Ice Prison.

Ch. 320Demon Sword that Cuts the Sun

Azer fought Verethragna after the god broke free from Hyōrinmaru’s Millennium Ice Prison, and Sardinia was battered by the clash. Azer weakened Verethragna with Divide and killed him with the Magic Sword, after which a disk devoured the god.

  • Azer released Hyōrinmaru from Shikai, weakening the blizzard, but Verethragna broke out of the Millennium Ice Prison in the form of a giant boar.
  • Verethragna charged Azer, and Azer summoned an ice dragon to meet him; their collision sent tsunamis and avalanches toward Sardinia.
  • Verethragna attacked Azer with the Golden Sword, but Azer parried his blows and landed two unavoidable slashes with Hyōrinmaru.
  • Azer used Divide to halve Verethragna’s power, then raised his Magic Sword as Verethragna summoned his weakened white horse incarnation.
  • Azer’s Magic Sword cut down the white horse and split Verethragna in two, and a disk appeared and devoured the god.

Ch. 321God Killing Spear

After defeating Verethragna, Azer faced Mekal, who had waited for their battle to end before attacking. Azer used God Killing Spear to dissolve Mekal’s body and pierce his spiritual form, then absorbed both gods with the Ring of Usurpation.

  • Mekal rose from beneath the sea and admitted he had waited for Azer and Verethragna to weaken each other.
  • Azer revealed that God Killing Spear could leave poisonous ash inside an enemy, which transformed back into a blade and dissolved Mekal’s body.
  • Mekal located the ash too late, and Azer activated God Killing Spear to dissolve his physical form.
  • Mekal survived as a spherical Plasma Body, but Azer pierced it with God Killing Spear, drawing on his experience as a Shinigami.
  • The Ring of Usurpation absorbed Mekal’s spiritual body and fed the power of both slain gods back to Azer.
