After witnessing Cao Tai's death, the disciples stationed around the perimeter collected the body while sending some of their number toward the island's depths, where ice that had accumulated over ten thousand years lay.

At the center, layers of solid ice piled upon one another, blanketed in white snow. Though this disciple had only opened his apertures, he could already feel the cold penetrating to his bones. He circulated his cultivation art, released his Ice Profound Strength, and struck the ice gate with his palm. There was no sign of life nearby; everything had been frozen by the ice, and the reflected light revealed only a hazy view.

Cold light shone from the ice gate, as if Ice Soul were flowing within it, but it did not open. Instead, a pleasant female voice came from beyond it:
