Red flames curled around the clouds as they rolled skyward, mushrooming into the air. Foulness was swept away, and tent after tent was blown into the sky.

With his back to the blast, Meng Qi passed through layer upon layer of restrictions and walked out through the camp gate. After a few strides, he was already at the riverbank, several hundred zhang away!

Their faces were filled with astonishment and confusion. They had no idea what had happened inside the camp. They've gone underwater and are trying to escape to the opposite bank. Why haven't you prepared a boat for this general to pursue them?"

For a hundred or so zhang near the riverbank, the current was permeated with black fumes, foul and turbulent. He needed to remain in peak condition in case the situation changed!

"Yes, Tianjun." A subordinate officer of the lower three ranks hurriedly replied. There was no time to prepare a decent boat, so he simply offered up the little skiff tied beside his own carriage.

Meng Qi stepped onto the boat and released his zhenqi. The waves parted on either side as he sped toward the middle of the river. In just a few breaths, he had left the waters where the black fumes roiled.
