Midnight came, and the villa finally returned to silence.
Lianfeng left with a head full of complicated thoughts and a preliminary proposal for "Pangu Civilization Technical Exchange."
As for the matter of Su Xiao Li, Super Seminary would certainly continue paying attention, but it was no longer something Si Yao needed to worry about.
To him, Su Xiao Li really was, just as he had said, more like a "pet" he had adopted on a whim.
The label was not malicious. To him, being a pet already placed her far above those Earth monkeys.
If this "pet" was obedient and sensible, there was no harm in letting her stay. If she ever felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave, he would never stop her.
The choice was hers.
For now, he had more important matters to focus on: digesting the scattered information about the underlying algorithms of the "God-Slaying Power" that he had indirectly gleaned from Lianfeng, combining it with his existing knowledge, and further perfecting his concept for the "Blood Spear" damage module.
At the same time, he needed to weave more "lies" with greater influence, obtain a massive number of True Points, and prepare for the possible "Void" threat in the future—a threat that even he felt wary of.
As for other minor matters, they could all be set aside for the time being.
After sorting through his thoughts, Si Yao returned to his bedroom to rest.
However, the moment he pushed open the Bedroom Door, he discovered that Su Xiao Li, who should have gone to rest in the guest room, was actually waiting in his room.
She was still wearing that black-and-white Maid Outfit, her hands nervously twisting together in front of her. An unnatural blush colored her cheeks, and her evasive gaze held a hint of desperate resolve.
Seeing Si Yao enter, she took a deep breath and spoke rapidly, as if reciting lines: "B-Boss! Since... since you're keeping me, then... then I definitely have to do those... things that are part of my duties. I... I don't have any experience, but I learn really fast! I-I'll improve quickly!"
Si Yao: "..."
He looked at Su Xiao Li's expression of facing death without flinching, as though she were about to heroically sacrifice herself, and was rendered speechless.
What did this Little Fox spend all day thinking about? Did he really look like someone who was impatient for that sort of thing?
"Go change into something normal." Si Yao rubbed his brow, his tone carrying a trace of barely perceptible weariness as he tried to tactfully end this farce. "Then go back to your own room and rest."
However, Su Xiao Li had clearly misunderstood him. She blinked, a look of "I get it" appearing on her face, and hurriedly nodded. "Okay, Boss! I'll go change right away!"
With that, she ran out of the master bedroom like a gust of wind.
Si Yao could not be bothered to speculate about her bizarre thought process anymore. He walked straight into the bathroom, took a shower, and changed into comfortable pajamas.
When he came out of the bathroom while drying his hair, he discovered that Su Xiao Li had already returned—and had changed into yet another outfit.
This time, it was a so-called "pure college student" ensemble: a Plaid Skirt, white blouse, Bow Tie, and even a pair of Plain Glasses.
However, on her, combined with the deliberately timid yet seductive look in her eyes, the outfit looked more like some kind of role-playing lingerie. Clearly, she had not understood the sort of temperament a "college student" should have at all; her gestures and expressions still followed the same alluring style she used during her livestreams.
"Boss... is this... okay?" Su Xiao Li blinked her large eyes as hard as she could, trying to make herself look more "pure."
Looking at the Little Fox, who had never even entered a university yet insisted on playing the part of an innocent junior, Si Yao felt a deep sense of helplessness well up in his heart.
Why did this situation feel as though this Little Fox had mistaken him for "prey" whose position needed to be secured through "earnest attempts to please" him?
"Go take a shower," Si Yao said flatly. "Then get back to your own room and sleep. Don't bother me."
Looking at Si Yao's icy face, Su Xiao Li finally realized that her attempt to "offer herself" seemed to hold absolutely no appeal for her Boss. He even seemed somewhat annoyed.
Frustration and grievance welled up in her heart. She pouted and answered softly, "Oh..." Then she slunk out of the master bedroom.
At last, the world was quiet again.
Si Yao lay down on the bed and closed his eyes. His consciousness sank deep within him as he began analyzing and reconstructing the fragments of information regarding the God-Slaying Weapon algorithms.
However, just as he was about to enter a state of deep meditation, the Bedroom Door was pushed open again, ever so slightly.
A fresh fragrance from after a shower drifted in.
Si Yao did not open his eyes, but he could sense Su Xiao Li creeping to the bedside like a kitten. She cautiously lifted one corner of the blanket and crawled inside, curling up beside him.
She did not dare move too close. She simply opened a pair of eyes that seemed exceptionally bright in the darkness and stared timidly and expectantly at his face just inches away. She kept her breathing extremely light, as though waiting for his next command—or merely begging for tacit permission to stay.
Si Yao sighed inwardly.
This Little Fox's understanding of being "kept" was truly... adorably stubborn and one-sided.
But his mind was currently filled with the Anti-Dark Singularity effect and parameter adjustments for Delta Radiation. He really had no energy to deal with this inexplicable "Night Raid."
He still did not open his eyes or move. "Be quiet."
Su Xiao Li seemed to interpret this as tacit permission.
She immediately gave a small "Mm," then tried to curl herself up even tighter. She nearly held her breath as she lay motionless beside him, only her large eyes continuing to stare at him without blinking in the darkness.
Si Yao could not be bothered to drive her away again. To him, whether there was one more warm, quiet "pillow" beside him had no effect on his rest or his thoughts.
The morning sunlight was blocked by the heavy curtains, leaving the bedroom dim and quiet, just as suited for sleep.
Si Yao's consciousness was immersed in constructing a complex energy model, while Su Xiao Li's even, shallow breathing sounded beside him.
After a night of "audacity" and finally being tacitly permitted to "share a bed," the Little Fox seemed to have found a sense of security at last. She slept particularly soundly, even unconsciously shifting closer to Si Yao, causing her pajama strap to slip down and reveal a stretch of snow-white skin and a delicate collarbone.
However, this tranquility did not last long.
A sharp rustling sound suddenly came from the glass door leading to the balcony—someone had abruptly yanked the heavy curtains open from outside!
Blinding sunlight poured into the room, dispelling the darkness completely.
Si Yao's brows instantly furrowed, and he opened his eyes in displeasure.
Outside the balcony, three Angels with snow-white Wings and graceful figures were hovering in the air. At the front, Blonde Angel Yan wore her usual, faintly teasing smile, while the other two Angels, Angel Chase and Angel Moy, wore relatively calm expressions.
Their gazes first landed on Si Yao, then naturally slid toward Su Xiao Li, who was curled up beside him. She was frowning slightly from the sudden brightness, her clothes disheveled.
The three Angels' expressions instantly became somewhat strange.
Angel Yan's brows rose slightly, and the corners of her lips curved into a meaningful smile.
Angel Chase and Moy instinctively looked away, seemingly feeling that they should avert their eyes.
Although they had lived for several thousand years and witnessed the customs of countless civilizations, they had no intention of judging such private matters between consenting people. But... arriving uninvited early in the morning only to see such a "springtime" scene still felt somewhat... abrupt.
Angel Yan was just about to say something teasing, such as, "Looks like we came at a bad time?"
But before she could speak, Si Yao interrupted her with an action.
He did not even bother lifting his eyelids again. He merely waved casually toward the balcony with extreme impatience.
In an instant, a mass of pure, solid White Light surged into existence and condensed outside the balcony's glass door into an airtight Light Wall!
The Light Wall not only completely blocked the view from outside, but also concealed all sound and auras, as though it had erased the entire balcony from the world.
The three Angels, who had been preparing to watch the show, suddenly found nothing but dazzling white before their eyes. The bedroom, Si Yao, and the disheveled Su Xiao Li all vanished without a trace.
The smile on Angel Yan's face froze. She could even feel the cold, rejecting aura radiating from the Light Wall—a clear message of "keep out."
"Yan Jie, I told you this was rude," Angel Chase could not help grumbling.
"You're invading their privacy."
Angel Yan was somewhat embarrassed. "How was I supposed to know that after only a few days apart, he'd already found himself a little girlfriend?"
