He Xi VS Morgana

With He Xi's appearance, the already tense atmosphere in the desert instantly reached its breaking point.

Yet to Si Yao, watching from afar, the situation seemed somewhat peculiar.

He could clearly sense that although the energy fluctuations of the "He Xi" before him were extremely similar to those of her True Body, she was actually just a high-precision clone, not her True Body in person.

Morgana was on edge as she watched He Xi.

The piercing clash of metal rang across the desert. Star Fate, made of Dark Silver, slammed into the Demon Claw, unleashing dazzling sparks and a shockwave of energy.

Both were made of Dark Silver, so their pure offensive power was evenly matched.

But Morgana's Demon Claw was better suited to close-range grappling and brute force, while He Xi's Star Fate was designed for precise long-range strikes and high-speed slicing.

After several fierce clashes and blocks, Morgana seized an opening. Her Demon Claw snapped shut, barely managing to clamp the speeding Star Fate in its grasp!

Star Fate shuddered violently but couldn't break free just yet.

Taking advantage of the moment, she swept her other hand sharply backward. A powerful Wormhole Calculation was completed instantly, and Micro Wormholes suddenly opened beneath A Tai and the other veteran demons behind her!

"Go!" Morgana barked.

A Tai and the others were reluctant, but they knew that staying would only make them a burden to their queen. Without hesitation, they leapt into the wormholes and vanished.

Morgana stayed behind, gripping the struggling Star Fate tightly in her Demon Claw as she faced He Xi, ready to cover their retreat.

He Xi had expected this.

When it came to Wormhole Technology, Liang Bing's talent was arguably the greatest in the Known Universe. Even Kaisha couldn't compare.

The reason she had opened with Star Fate was simply to test whether Morgana had her signature Demon Wings with her.

If she did, then given Liang Bing's personality, she would have done whatever it took to steal Star Fate.

If that weapon fell into Morgana's hands, it would be truly terrifying.

But she was only holding it back now. That meant she wasn't confident she could break through He Xi's defenses and snatch Star Fate in a short time.

Or perhaps the Demon Wings simply weren't here.

Having figured that out, He Xi's clone no longer hesitated. She charged straight in, drawing King's Fate, which she hadn't used in more than ten thousand years, and engaged Morgana!

Angel Yan and the others had been about to rush in and help, but He Xi sternly stopped them over Dark Communication.

"Don't move! You can't interfere in a battle between kings! If you jump in recklessly, you won't even know what killed you!"

So Angel Yan and the others could only hover tensely in place, waiting for a chance to support her.

Far away, Si Yao and Su Xiao Li continued to watch in silence, making no move to intervene.

Su Xiao Li had even produced a bag of snacks from who knew where. She quietly asked Si Yao, "Boss, who do you think will win?"

Just then, an urgent Dark Communication, thick with unmistakable exasperation, forced its way into Si Yao's channel. It was Morgana!

"Hey! Si Yao! Do me a favor! Get this old hag off my back! I'll owe you one! Name your price—if I have it, we can talk!"

Si Yao acted as if he hadn't heard her. He didn't even glance her way.

When Morgana saw that he wasn't budging and He Xi's attacks were growing more and more fierce, she grew frantic and sent another message. "Hey! Did you hear me?! Help me, and you can name your terms!"

Si Yao finally reacted. Unhurriedly, he took from his Dark Plane the Dark Silver Long Sword He Xi had given him as a "meeting gift," its design simple yet elegant.

The sword gleamed with a cold light in his hand. Its meaning was clear.

Morgana: "???"

She was stunned. Completely stunned!

A moment's distraction in the fight nearly cost her a shoulder to King's Fate.

Dodging in a panic, she shrieked at He Xi in disbelief, "Bitch! He Xi! When did you hook up with the guy who killed your old flame?! You and Sumali had a thing once, didn't you? You don't even want revenge for his death, and now you're practically giving this guy weapons! Have you wasted all those tens of thousands of years?!"

He Xi's attacks didn't let up. A hint of scorn even crossed her face as she finally replied coldly, "You're still dredging up old history from tens of thousands of years ago? Liang Bing, you're as childish as ever."

As for He Xi and Sumali, it was hard to say they'd ever had any real affection for each other. At most, he was a dark stain from her younger, more foolish days.

Tens of thousands of years had passed. At most, she'd let bygones be bygones and refrain from killing Sumali herself. But rescue him or avenge him...

That was a joke.

The battle continued.

Seeing that Si Yao had no intention of intervening and had even displayed the sword He Xi had given him to make his stance clear, Morgana felt her heart sink.
