Ashe Failed

We should let him stay hungry a little longer...

After a long, fierce battle, Ashe ultimately proved inferior and was the first to fall.

There was no helping it. Although Ashe had more real combat experience than Morgana, Morgana was clearly a much faster learner.

Before long, Morgana had not only learned all of Ashe's moves, but had started counterattacking.

Morgana's gaze was full of possessiveness as she stared at Ashe with her phoenix eyes.

Her voice was alluring and magnetic.

And just like that, her anger faded away.

She reached out and took hold of Ashe's chin, making her meet Morgana's gaze.

Morgana spoke with confidence and sincerity.

"From today on, I want my name to always come first in your heart."

"The Demon Queen, Morgana!"

As purple smoke enveloped Morgana,

she shed her disguise on Earth.

In an instant, she was dressed as she was in the Demon Legion. After speaking, Morgana leaned closer and lightly tapped Ashe.

Then she continued, "Before long, you'll understand what that name means!"

"So remember. Don't forget what happened today!"

"Your queen will come find you again!"

With that, Morgana casually waved her hand.

Soton, who had been too afraid to move from where he stood,

suddenly walked over to Morgana's side against his will.

"Hey, what the—what's going on?! My body won't listen to me!"

"Which goddess did this to me?!" Soton cried out instinctively as his body moved on its own.

The next second, Morgana turned her finger, and a black iron chain wrapped around Soton's mouth.

It literally forced his mouth shut.

The poor little crocodile had only just woken up. He was a Third Generation Beast Body, powerful in his own right, but he'd been resurrected with too little energy and intimidated by Ashe's strength.

Now he'd run into the Demon Queen. He couldn't win against her to begin with, and at this point, he couldn't even fight back.

"As for this warrior, I need him. Let me take him with me, all right?"

Besides coming to see Ashe, Morgana's other reason for appearing was the Crocodile God Soton standing before her.

But things hadn't gone according to plan.

Originally, Morgana had intended to tease Ashe a little,

then take Soton away by force.

But after everything that had happened between her and Ashe, Morgana found herself considering Ashe's feelings instead.

Perhaps it was because this was a first for her, and it had left a deep impression. At this moment, her complicated feelings for Ashe led her, for the first time, to

ask someone else's opinion after making a decision.

Morgana had noticed the change in her own state of mind, but she didn't dislike it.

"All right."

Doing her best to keep her expression cool, Ashe nodded.

She hadn't known what to do with the giant crocodile anyway. Killing him was out of the question, and handing him over to Super Seminary was no guarantee they could keep him under control. As for leaving him to Monkey Brother,

Ashe was afraid Sun Wukong might kill Soton if he found out Soton treated people like steamed buns.

So giving Soton to Morgana, as in the original story, was actually the best choice Ashe could make right now.

Hearing Ashe agree, Morgana's expression softened.

She was just about to say something

when Ashe held up a finger toward her.

"I'll let you take him, but I have one condition!"

"I don't care if you're the Demon Queen, and I don't care why you came to Earth."

"Nor will I interfere with whatever you do after taking this crocodile away."

"But you must not bring your demons here to harm the people of this country. That is my only demand, and my bottom line!"

Ashe was serious. What had just happened between them hadn't changed her mind.

If Morgana wanted to continue what they had started, this was a necessary condition. Besides, it was the only stain on Morgana's record in the story.

Since Ashe had the ability to change that, why wouldn't she?

As for stopping Morgana from settling on Earth, don't be ridiculous. Ashe knew her own limits.

As she'd said, Ashe wasn't Space-Time Rose. She wasn't the life's work Morgana had devoted herself to.

And when it came to people in other countries, Ashe had neither reason nor right to interfere.

After all, she had no right to make choices on other people's behalf, and she couldn't protect that many people. Besides, some of them were willing to sink into depravity.

Her abilities were limited. She couldn't save them all.

"All right!" Morgana agreed without hesitation.

"But there's one person in this country I want to take with me. He was one of my men to begin with; he's just forgotten his memories."

"All right!" Ashe knew exactly who Morgana meant.

Yu Baosheng had clearly been placed on Earth in advance by either Death God Karl or Morgana herself.

Otherwise, how could someone wake up one day and become a high-ranking demon?

Demon One and Demon Wings weren't even with Morgana. She might have wanted to create a high-ranking demon herself, but she couldn't have done it.

"Good. Then I'll see you next time." Morgana reached out and gently stroked Ashe's hair twice.

Then she snapped her fingers, and vanished before Ashe's eyes.

Watching Morgana disappear,

Ashe was thinking about how to explain Soton's disappearance.

But just then, two phantom figures appeared before her.

One was Ashe; the other was Soton.

The next moment, to Ashe's astonishment,

the two figures began moving on their own.
