"That Liu Chuang really pisses me off! How dare he threaten a police officer?" a pretty female police officer said angrily, though her puffed-up cheeks made her look somewhat cute.

The officer driving beside her comforted her, "Hey, don't stoop to his level. I've got your back." He then focused back on driving.

But the female officer clearly didn't catch his meaning and retorted, "Who needs your protection?"

Just then, the police radio crackled to life, the voice urgent: "Car 125, Car 125, Liuyun Airport is under attack. Proceed immediately for support. Proceed immediately for support."

"Under attack? Who's bold enough for that? This is Juxia City," the female officer said.

"Everyone, stay alert. The military has stepped in, and troops are on their way. All personnel, evacuate the crowd immediately and protect the people."

At that moment, the police car carrying the female officer arrived. As she stepped out, she saw corpses everywhere and rubble scattered across the ground. Having never faced such a dangerous mission before, Qi Lin froze on the spot. In that moment of daze, a laser shot toward her, piercing straight through her heart. With a bewildered look, she collapsed to the ground.

Just then, a man with long silver hair, clad in a silver-and-gold battle armor, charged toward the source of the laser. As he got closer, he saw it was a Taotie in full blue-white armor.

This man was Chen Yi. On his way home, the system had alerted him to intense energy fluctuations here, so he came to check it out.

Seeing the Taotie wantonly destroying the city and killing civilians, Chen Yi's heart burned with rage. He rushed at the Taotie, thrusting the Flowing Light Blade straight toward its heart.

Though furious, he was uncertain of his own strength, so he aimed for a vital spot from the start. But the Taotie, blessed by the God of Death, was no fool. It casually raised a hand to block the attack, while its other hand aimed a laser cannon at Chen Yi. Caught off guard, Chen Yi was blasted flying.

Still, he got up quickly. After his genes awakened, his physical fitness had improved significantly, and with the Bright Silver Armor, he was mostly unharmed. But his heart tightened with tension.

He saw the Taotie flying toward him and met it head-on, but at the last moment, he dodged to the side and slashed backhand across the Taotie warrior's back. Though this world didn't allow cultivation, Chen Yi still retained the combat skills from his previous life.

The Taotie, wounded, quickly pulled back and bombarded him with laser fire. But Chen Yi's movements were erratic, and soon he was in front of it again, stabbing straight for its heart.

Just as he thought the fight was over, the Taotie kicked him away, then extended a sword and swung at him. Thanks to the combat experience accumulated from life-and-death battles in his past life, Chen Yi barely dodged.

"When did Planet Earth produce someone of your strength?" the Taotie asked in confusion.

"Hmph!" Chen Yi didn't answer, only snorted coldly. Then his figure suddenly vanished.

"What?" The Taotie began to panic.

Suddenly, Chen Yi appeared behind it. One clean slash severed its head. This was his spatial jump ability—unlike wormhole technology, his jump altered the position of space itself, making it far superior in a certain sense. Using this ability meant Chen Yi was taking the fight seriously.

Holding the Taotie's head in his hand, Chen Yi said, "So this is the Taotie civilization that angel mentioned? Hmph, if you dare invade Earth, then prepare for destruction." With that, he crushed the Taotie's head.

Looking at the ruins and corpses scattered everywhere, Chen Yi felt a heavy weight in his heart. Though he had only been in this world for a little over a month, having seen so much of life and death, he still held deep respect for life.

Seeing the military begin to assemble and the wounded being loaded into ambulances, he silently slipped away.

By the time he got home, it was already night. He began to replay the fight with the Taotie in his mind, his mood complicated. He knew this was merely the vanguard of the Taotie forces. Thinking of the many more Taotie yet to come, Chen Yi's heart sank to the bottom.

Instead of sleeping, he went to the balcony and began tempering his body with the Power of Stars. Though his genes were now activated and his body was much tougher than an ordinary person's, he still hadn't reached the level of a Divine Body. His main goal now was to forge his body into a Divine Body.
