Planet Earth, within the borders of Huaxia, on a certain street.
The once bustling and lively city welcomed an uninvited guest today. As usual, the streets were crowded with people, everyone busy with their own affairs.
Suddenly, a clap of thunder rang out in the sky, followed by a crocodile... no, not a crocodile—a creature with a crocodile-like yet humanoid form, a crocodile-human body, plummeted from the heavens and crashed heavily onto the street.
Most people on the street fled in fear, but the world never lacks those who stop to watch a spectacle.
The crocodile-human creature looked around in a daze, muttering under its breath: "Alive... alive, sending so much food." Swaying its head, it tried to stand up, but perhaps due to prolonged starvation, it plopped back down onto its rear.
"Ah... ah... rest a bit... rest a bit." After a moment, it grabbed a passerby and shoved them into its mouth. The person was instantly crushed, and the air filled with the stench of blood.
The crowd began to scatter in panic, but the crocodile-human creature was not slow either; it snatched several more people and devoured them in an instant.
Just then, a piercing sound cut through the air from above, as several Taotie clad in black armor rode war machines straight toward the crocodile-human creature.
"Target: Crocodile God Soton, locked. Prepare for capture," one of the Taotie said.
"Who... who's calling me?" Soton looked around with a somewhat dazed expression, puzzled.
"Is it one of those angel sisters?" Perhaps because he had been defeated by Angel Chase before and had some angelic concepts implanted in his mind, he instinctively assumed it was an angel.
"Capture immediately!" With that command, the Taotie began their operation. However, Soton, as a beast warrior with a Third Generation Divine Body, still retained combat capability despite being sealed for a long time.
One Taotie stood on a war machine and opened fire on Soton, but it was nearly useless. Instead, many ordinary people nearby were caught in the crossfire and lost their lives.
"You... you... you hit me, huh? Damn you," Soton growled angrily, then grabbed a nearby car and hurled it at the Taotie. The Taotie warrior was knocked down, and Soton leaped in front of him, ready to chop him down with a single strike.
But at that moment, another Taotie charged in, ramming Soton with its war machine, sending him tumbling twice across the ground.
"Hey... wait... let... let me take a bite... see if I don't..." Before Soton could finish, several grappling hooks seized him.
"Hey... hey... let... let go... let me go!"
"Capture complete. Move out." Without much effort, they had Soton secured, and then they flew off on their war machines.
"Thump! Thump! Thump!" Just as Chen Yi was tempering his body, a knock came at the door.
He immediately stopped what he was doing and went to open it, finding A Jie standing there.
"Mr. Chen, I've come to take you to the academy," A Jie said.
"You came to pick me up yourself?" Chen Yi asked, puzzled.
"Yes, Mr. Chen. Once your things are packed, we'll head out."
"Alright, wait a moment. I'll be right there." With that, Chen Yi went into the bedroom to grab his luggage. There wasn't much to take; most of his belongings were already stored in his System Backpack.
A few minutes later, Chen Yi came out. "Let's go," he said, then followed A Jie downstairs to the car, heading to Super Seminary.
The car sped along, and from the scenery outside, it was clear they were heading toward the suburbs. Along the way, A Jie briefed him on the daily courses and training plans at Super Seminary, as well as the other students there.
The trip took about three hours, including a transfer to a helicopter, before they finally arrived at Super Seminary. It was clear just how remote the place was.
Standing before Super Seminary, seeing a campus no smaller than a major university with excellent greenery, Chen Yi felt a shift within himself—a surge of excitement at returning to school.
"Mr. Chen, I've arranged your dormitory. You can head there on your own. I have other matters to attend to, so I'll take my leave now."
"Alright, thank you for the trouble."
Chen Yi walked alone through the campus. Though the grounds were vast, there were very few people; it was hard to spot anyone.
After wandering for a while, Chen Yi reached his dormitory. It was spacious and a single room—arranged by A Jie, who had promised to secure the best benefits for him. While not all promises might be kept, at least these small favors were within his power.
Chen Yi tidied up the room, making it spotless, then decided to rest for a bit, since A Jie had mentioned there would be classes in the evening.
He slept straight through until dusk. After all, Chen Yi hadn't had a proper rest in days. Though tempering his body with the Power of Stars meant he didn't need sleep, an occasional nap was still fine.
After asking for directions a few times, Chen Yi arrived at the classroom. On the TV in the room, the news was playing footage of Soton's descent and capture. A few people were already in the classroom. From the materials A Jie had given him, Chen Yi recognized them: Di Lena, the Light of the Sun; Rui Mengmeng, the Luoxing Vanguard; Qi Lin, the Shenhe Sniper; Chen Yaowen, the Heart of the Earth; and Liu Chuang, the Luoxing God of War.
The moment Chen Yi entered the classroom, he drew everyone's attention. His fair skin, delicate yet handsome features, cold and sharp eyes, and silver-white hair gave him an aura that kept others at a distance.
