Outside Professor Jian's villa.
Having received Han Feng's orders, Sharp Eye and Crazy Fist wasted no time in launching their plan.
Since Ye Yun had refused to cooperate with them.
It was time to put the plan into action.
The two moved like civet cats in the dark, evading the surrounding cameras as they crept cautiously toward the villa ahead.
They couldn't afford to alert their prey just yet.
Once inside the villa, Sharp Eye said, "I'll take the living room. You take the bedroom."
"Fine."
Crazy Fist nodded and strode boldly toward the bedroom.
Now that they were inside the villa, there was no need to hide.
He was supremely confident in his own strength—confident that those two humans couldn't escape. So there was no reason to rush.
Little did he know.
Han Feng was already dead.
Suddenly.
A whip-like kick lashed out, swift as lightning.
Caught off guard, Crazy Fist took the sudden kick square in the chest. A tremendous force transmitted through him, sending him sliding sideways until he slammed into the wall—and even embedded himself into it.
"Whoosh."
A blur streaked past. Before Crazy Fist could react, the shadow that had delivered the kick leaped high, giving him no time to recover, and drove a knee toward his head.
Seeing the incoming knee, Crazy Fist instinctively tried to dodge.
But he was already wedged into the wall, utterly unable to evade the brutal knee strike.
"Thud."
A dull sound rang out, followed by the crackling hiss of electric arcs.
Crazy Fist's head burst apart like a watermelon—but no blood splattered. Only sparks flickered.
"Too weak."
Ye Yun straightened up, adjusted his slightly wrinkled suit, and walked toward the living room.
Compared to Jie Xing, these Intelligent Beings were far too inferior.
"Who's there?"
Sharp Eye, as the strongest sniper among Duyizhi, had exceptionally keen hearing. He quickly took cover behind an obstacle and barked out.
"Someone who wants your life."
An icy voice rang out.
Leather shoes, as if freshly oiled, clicked sharply against the floor, step by step, drawing closer with a faint, oppressive weight.
"You Hunting Dogs again."
Hearing that.
Rage flared in Sharp Eye's eyes. It was those damned Hunting Dogs again.
Truly relentless.
"Bang bang bang."
Cursing under his breath, Sharp Eye pulled a grenade from his belt, yanked the pin, and tossed it to the ground. He rolled across the floor, crashed through the floor-to-ceiling window, and fled into the darkness.
The grenade's rolling on the ground was unmistakable. Ye Yun glanced at it, then kicked it away with lightning speed.
"Boom."
"Crack."
A deafening explosion erupted. The grenade detonated just as it left the villa.
The shockwave from the blast shattered the surrounding windows.
From the black smoke, a shadow shot out.
Its speed kept increasing. Its target: Sharp Eye, who was trying to escape.
"Damn it, these cursed Hunting Dogs."
After fleeing to what he thought was a safe spot, Sharp Eye grabbed the sniper rifle he had hidden there, cursing under his breath.
These hunters were truly relentless. Just wait—one day, he would kill every last one of them.
It seemed.
Crazy Fist had probably met his end.
"Whoosh whoosh whoosh."
Just then.
A whistling sound came through the air.
Hearing that sound, Sharp Eye didn't think twice—he raised his sniper rifle and fired on instinct.
Coming this fast, could it be an Intelligent Being?
The sniper rifle's speed was immense: 1,200 meters per second, enough to kill anyone within that range in a single second.
Ye Yun sidestepped slightly, dodging the bullet without slowing down.
A Laser Sword appeared in his hand.
Bang.
The muffled crack of the sniper rifle echoed through the night. A spark flashed and vanished; the bullet faintly glowed, a result of its extreme speed.
Shhh.
Ye Yun saw the incoming bullet and swung his Laser Sword. The laser, which could cut through anything, split the warhead in two, the halves grazing past his cheek.
"How is that possible?"
Seeing this, Sharp Eye said in disbelief.
Just as he prepared to pull the trigger again, a Laser Sword had already swept across his neck.
The sniper rifle in his hands snapped in two and clattered to the ground.
His head fell from his shoulders.
The cut on his neck was clean and smooth. Sparks flickered.
Thud.
At last.
Sharp Eye's body collapsed onto the grass with a crisp sound.
"Why bother?"
Ye Yun put away his weapon, bent down to pick up Sharp Eye's head, removed the Chip inside, tossed the mechanical head aside, and walked toward the distant Villa.
"Th-this?"
Professor Jian swallowed dryly, staring at the Intelligent Being Crazy Fist embedded in the wall, disbelief in his eyes.
"Hot Mom, that guy is probably not an ordinary person—or rather, he's not human at all."
Qiao Er looked at Crazy Fist, whose head had exploded and was now embedded in the wall. A string of digital code flashed in her Electronic Eye as her Chip ran at high speed, calculating his destructive power.
"According to analysis, Crazy Fist was crushed without any chance to fight back. The only ones capable of this are Jie Xing, or an Intelligent Being as strong as Jie Xing. Human strength cannot achieve this level."
"Impossible, right?"
Professor Jian's eyes were full of doubt. It couldn't be an Intelligent Being.
"That's just my analysis. After all, even I can't manage this kind of inhuman strength, and neither can Ye Zi."
Qiao Er shrugged and said, "But for you humans, nothing is impossible. You created us Intelligent Beings—why can't you do something this inhuman?"
"My apologies for causing such damage to your home the moment I arrived, Professor Jian."
Ye Yun looked at Professor Jian before him. Though his words were apologetic, his face remained cold and unchanging.
"It's fine, it's fine. We should be thanking you. Without your help, I'm afraid—"
Professor Jian quickly understood the purpose of Crazy Fist and Sharp Eye.
If he wasn't mistaken.
They were likely after him and the Firewall Program.
Thankfully, Ye Yun had arrived tonight. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unthinkable.
"It's nothing."
Ye Yun shook his head and tapped his Smart Watch.
"You've stirred up trouble again. I don't even need to ask." Feiran's voice came through the Smart Watch. "Get back before dawn tomorrow. No problem?"
"Is it about Duyizhi?"
Ye Yun said, "Duyizhi attacked Professor Jian and the others. I've already dealt with Sharp Eye and Crazy Fist, but I suspect—"
"Stop your suspicions. Their target is exactly the Firewall Program in Jian Jie's hands. If they get it, Duyizhi can easily break through the Intelligent Beings' logic loopholes." Feiran cut him off. "Come back now."
"I—"
Ye Yun tried to say something but was interrupted again. "You should understand what's important and what isn't."
"Alright."
After a long moment of deep thought, he nodded in agreement.
The importance of the Initial Source Code went without saying—it couldn't be compared to the Firewall Program.
If the Initial Source Code was lost, everything would be over.
The Firewall Program was lost, but the backup firewall can be activated.
"Sorry for the trouble. Something came up at home. You all be careful."
A hint of an apologetic smile appeared on Ye Yun's face as he turned and left.
"Then we won't keep you. You didn't even have a sip of water."
Professor Jian watched him get into the car and drive off in a cloud of dust, then glanced at the wrecked house and gave a slight shrug.
"Hot Mom, what were they talking about? Is there something more important than the Firewall Program? The Initial Source Code?"
Qiao Er's eyes were full of confusion, and she thought of the Initial Source Code that had created them, asking uncertainly.
Because the underlying architecture of Intelligent Beings like them came from the Initial Source Code. Without it, they'd be like a house without a foundation, collapsing at the first gust of wind—and they simply couldn't activate.
"Yeah, they're Professor Hu Ming's children. I think they're guarding the Initial Source Code."
Professor Jian nodded and said.
"Then do you know where it is?" Qiao Er tilted her head and asked.
"I do."
Professor Jian nodded, not finding it particularly noteworthy.
"Hot Mom, are you all okay?"
Ye Yun, since she hadn't been forced into a security check by Zhuo Ran like in the original plot, returned very quickly.
She was close to home.
Seeing smoke and dust everywhere and smelling gunpowder, she sped up her pace home.
"We're all fine. This place just needs some renovations."
Professor Jian reached out and retrieved Crazy Fist's undamaged Chip.
"Qiao Er, go check if Sharp Eye's Chip was taken." Looking at the Chip in her hand, a glint flickered in Professor Jian's eyes.
She wanted to see exactly what logical loopholes these guys had exploited to cause the intelligent mutation.
"This?"
Seeing the scene before her, Ye Yun was also stunned. She asked uncertainly, "Is this Crazy Fist? Did you do this?"
"Do you think I have that kind of strength?"
Ye Qiao Er glanced at her older sister and said.
"I forgot. You're just a little Bodyguard, small and without much advantage. How could you beat Crazy Fist until he couldn't fight back?"
Ye Yun only then remembered that Ye Qiao Er was just a small Bodyguard plus playmate type Intelligent Being. How could she possess such immense power? She asked curiously, "Then what really happened?"
"Don't ask."
Professor Jian shook her head, signaling Ye Yun not to ask anything. She said, "Are we staying here or moving out?"
"We're moving out now. Since I didn't undergo the security check, the Intelligence Hunting Bureau guys have their eyes on me. Plus, with the situation here, it's better to move out and find someone to renovate."
Ye Yun chose to move out directly. If she didn't, the Intelligence Hunting Bureau guys would be really annoying.
And with Duyizhi causing a scene here, it was impossible not to attract attention.
