Brahma Wasteland.
A barren mountain forest, neither beautiful nor perilous, stretched out before the eye. It looked utterly ordinary, and not a soul could be seen for miles around.
Yet within this mountain forest stood an ancient temple.
The ancient temple seemed to have been forgotten for countless years. Its incense had long since died out, its signboard hung crooked, spiderwebs covered it densely, and dust lay everywhere. Even half of the temple walls had collapsed, while the remaining half was covered in vines and riddled with cracks.
Today, however, a young monk in gray robes arrived before the temple.
He walked inside, surveying the surroundings as he went, a warm smile lingering at the corners of his mouth.
From the temple courtyard, he entered the main hall where divine statues were usually enshrined. There, he saw that in the far from spacious central hall, the only thing being worshiped was actually a stone tablet.
Beneath the stone tablet sat an old monk who looked like a sculpture. He remained silent, as if he had been sitting there in meditation for ten thousand years.
"This humble monk is Shi Xin, from Great Forest Temple in Gray Mist Sea. I pay my respects to Ancestor Shi."
He bowed.
The old monk remained silent.
Shi Xin continued:
"After Ancestor Shi departed, Gray Mist Sea experienced the Golden Great Era. Today, Great Forest Temple's Shi Dao has reached perfection, with countless disciples and thriving incense. It has become one of Gray Mist Sea's grand pillars."
"Yet who would have thought that Ancestor Shi would be here, living in this dilapidated little temple, guarding a shrine that no one worships, suffering the hardships of wind and rain..."
"This humble monk feels deeply ashamed."
