"The noodles are ready!"
Li Niang brought a large bowl of noodles before Xiao Yi Xian, then handed her a pair of chopsticks with a smile. "Girl, you've been away so long and still remembered to come back!"
Xiao Yi Xian's eyes sparkled with little stars as she looked at the steaming, fragrant noodles. Taking the chopsticks from Li Niang, she smiled. "After all, this is home. Of course I had to come back."
Seeing how beautiful Xiao Yi Xian had become, Li Niang's aged face filled with smiles. "You've grown up. You're much prettier than before."
Xiao Yi Xian giggled, picked up her chopsticks, and began eating the bowl of "longevity noodles." The bowl was huge, the portion generous, and the price cheap.
"Slurp!"
Xiao Yi Xian smiled as she ate the nostalgic noodles. This had also been the original owner's favorite place to visit—cheap and filling.
The original owner had been fairly well-off, yet whenever she came out to eat in order to save money, she would only come to Li Niang's for noodles.
"Eat slowly!"
Li Niang smiled from beside her. Her prominent cheekbones propped up weathered skin, and a smile gradually blossomed across her wind-worn face.
Beneath her deeply wrinkled brow, her vacant eyes slowly brightened. Clouded yet gentle, they carried a peaceful calm, as though silently telling people what happiness was.
Li Niang had watched Xiao Yi Xian grow up. Though she did not know where she had come from, Xiao Yi Xian had wandered this town alone when she was eight or nine.
Having no children of her own, Li Niang had naturally taken extra care of her. Xiao Yi Xian had left the deepest impression on her, and later became the physician everyone in Green Mountain Town knew.
Time...
It really was worthless.
