Help from Hagrid
After telling Hagrid about his recent situation, Harry held up the package he had received the day before yesterday.
"Hagrid, I'd like to ask you for a favor."
"What?" Hagrid had not expected Harry to need his help and was quite surprised.
Harry opened the package, revealing neatly arranged stones of identical size. "To be honest, I saw that thing the moment you arrived. I thought you'd brought me some pies," Hagrid said sheepishly.
"Once you help me with this, you can have whatever kind of pie you want!"
"What do you want me to do?" Hagrid guessed that what Harry wanted had something to do with the stones on the table, but he had no idea what exactly.
Harry was about to speak when he suddenly saw Hermione staring at him with bright eyes. She mouthed, "Don't let him know."
Then he quietly told Hagrid, "...Well, um..."
Hagrid thought for a moment, then nodded. "That shouldn't be difficult." Harry could not help smiling. Problem solved!
The fields between the school and Hagrid's Hut.
Hermione strode quickly ahead of Harry, swinging her arms widely as though she wanted to get as far away from him as possible. Harry smiled helplessly behind her. What had he been thinking just now? Why had he insisted on deliberately provoking Hermione? It was not as if he did not know her personality. She would surely take something like distrusting her to heart, even if he had only been joking.
"Hey, Hermione, you know I was only teasing you. I didn't really want to make you angry." Harry caught up to Hermione and walked beside her.
Hermione stopped and said, "I'm not angry!"
"Fine, fine, you're not angry. I'll tell you, actually, I asked Hagrid to..."
"Harry, I don't want to know at all what you asked Hagrid to help you with! I just want to get back to school and finish the homework the professors assigned today." With that, Hermione immediately headed toward the school without waiting for Harry.
It seemed Hermione was really angry. Harry wondered what he could do to make Hermione stop dwelling on it... Hmm, a Memory Charm would be nice... No, he might as well rub Hermione's legs and massage her shoulders to beg for forgiveness. What should he do...
Harry rushed in front of Hermione, faced her, and blocked her path.
Hermione ignored him, stepped to the side, and kept walking, but Harry stepped aside too and blocked her again.
Hermione went right, and Harry went right...
Hermione went left, and Harry went left...
Hermione stepped back, and Harry... grabbed her arm.
"What are you doing?" Hermione said angrily. Harry suddenly pulled her toward him and wrapped her in a tight embrace!
Ultimate move for picking up girls—Hug Kill!!
Hermione froze. She had no idea what Harry had just done. Once she came to her senses, she struggled fiercely in his arms, trying to break free of Harry's tightly wrapped arms, but she could not do it at all...
Hermione let out a breath and gave up struggling pointlessly. "Let me go!"
Harry rested his chin against Hermione's brown hair and caught the scent of jasmine. He took two soft breaths and said, "Are you still angry?"
"Of course I'm angry!" Hermione punched Harry's body hard. How could he do something like this without my permission!
"Don't be angry. I only asked Hagrid to make me a... toy. Yeah, Wizard Chess!" Harry explained.
Hermione looked up, even forgetting her situation as she asked, "Wizard Chess? Isn't that easy to buy? Why did you ask Hagrid to make a set for you?"
"I don't want Western Wizard Chess. I want Chinese chess. They don't sell anything like that in the wizarding world!"
"Chinese chess? The kind those two old men in Chinatown were playing?"
"That's right."
"Then why didn't you tell me?" Hermione frowned.
"I was planning to teach you how to play after the Chinese chess set was finished," Harry said.
"Why don't you let go already? You're squeezing my arm so hard it hurts!"
Only then did Harry realize he had been holding her too tightly, and he quickly let Hermione go. Hermione rubbed her shoulder and walked on.
Harry was completely confused. He felt that Hermione was still somewhat angry, but he had no idea why...
He had completely forgotten which bastard had hugged Hermione just now.
Hogwarts, Great Hall.
Malfoy sat at the dining table with a gloomy expression. It could be said that whenever he had classes with Gryffindor students, he was never in a good mood. Now, even without seeing Harry, his mood had suddenly turned foul.
Whenever he thought of a few days ago, when Harry had cast a spell on him right here and left him unable to speak for an entire day, he wanted to go mad. Yet he could not even beat Harry in a fight.
Just then, Malfoy's lackey Goyle suddenly ran over and complained, "Malfoy, I just saw a notice in the Slytherin common room saying that next Thursday, we have flying lessons with Gryffindor! I really don't want to be around them at all!"
The moment Malfoy heard this, his expression darkened as well. But then, as though he had thought of something, he suddenly began to smile.
