Rich and Willful
Shopping was an activity dominated by women, one that drove them wild. Its sheer duration and physical exertion had always filled men with deep fear.
In fact, men loved shopping too. But because their mindset differed from women's, men would not easily go shopping just to blow off steam.
However, when a man was very rich, shopping truly became something men loved.
Hagrid shook his head and said to Harry, "I need to go to The Leaky Cauldron for a drink to wake myself up. Go buy your uniform at Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions first." Hagrid pointed at a clothing shop not far away.
Harry nodded. "Okay."
Then Harry walked into Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions by himself.
Madam Malkin was a plump witch dressed in purple, with a warm, welcoming smile. Seeing her, one could easily think of the word "mother," because she gave off such a gentle feeling. At least, that was what Harry thought.
"Dear, are you here to buy a new student uniform for Hogwarts?" Madam Malkin asked warmly.
"Yes."
"I never would have guessed. If you weren't without a school uniform and clearly still a child, I would have thought you were a second- or third-year student."
"The marking on your forehead is truly beautiful," Madam Malkin praised.
"Thank you for the compliment."
"Come in, child. There's another Hogwarts first-year inside trying on uniforms. Perhaps you'll even be sorted into the same house."
Inside, a pale, thin child stood on a stool while a witch measured him. The boy had rare platinum-blond hair that seemed to glow. His eyes tilted upward slightly, and a proud, cold smile hung on his lips. He looked impatient, utterly disdainful of the world.
Heh, what a fated scene. Malfoy, who taught you that mocking, hatred-pulling expression? Harry could not help laughing inwardly as he looked at the platinum-haired boy.
That was right. This was Draco Malfoy, the second greatest villain in Harry Potter. Malfoy could be said to be Harry's destined lifelong enemy.
What? Voldemort? Please, had Voldemort gone through seven years of love and hatred with Harry at school? No, right? That was the legendary bond!
Oh ho ho... (Luo Bei: I love this kind of plot-destroying setup the most!)
Draco Malfoy: the Malfoy family's only heir, born into great wealth. His family was one of the wizarding world's famous pure-blood wizarding families. His father, Lucius Malfoy, was a member of the Ministry of Magic's board of governors and a natural politician. His mother, Narcissa Malfoy, was a legendary master actor!
Thinking about young Malfoy, Harry walked toward him.
He stepped onto the stool beside Malfoy, and his height advantage immediately became obvious.
Malfoy glanced at Harry, then turned away. After all, he was still a child and could not resist the urge to talk to someone his own age.
Trying hard to look cool and aloof, he asked, "Hey, are you going to Hogwarts too?"
"Yes." Harry held back his laughter.
Then Harry suddenly remembered several online nicknames for Malfoy: His Highness Draco, Little Dragon, Draco, Cool Bro.
They really suited him.
Malfoy could not hide his arrogance. "My father is next door buying my books, and my mother has gone out to look for a wand." He spoke slowly, dragging out his words in an irritating way. "Then I'm going to make them take me to look at Flying Broomsticks. I don't understand why first-years can't have their own Flying Broomsticks. I think I'll force my father to buy me one, then find a way to sneak it in."
Sure enough, that was Malfoy's signature line. The moment he opened his mouth, it was, "My father..."
Harry said, "I like Flying Broomsticks too. After all, flying through the sky is really fun."
Malfoy seemed rather pleased. "Then have you played Quidditch?"
"Uh, I'm not interested in that. I just like the feeling of flying in the sky."
Malfoy turned his head, looking a little angry. "How can there be a wizard who doesn't like Quidditch?" It was as though Harry had insulted Malfoy's faith.
Harry felt a little helpless. Was that really necessary?
Malfoy snorted and continued, "Which house do you think you'll be sorted into? I'll definitely be in Slytherin, because my whole family was there. If I got sorted into Hufflepuff, I'd drop out."
Malfoy, was it really okay for you to be this arrogant?
Harry replied, "I care more about Slytherin and Gryffindor. I hope I'll be in Gryffindor, because... there's a cute girl there named Hermione." Only Harry heard that last sentence. Otherwise, if Malfoy looked at him with contempt, that would definitely be a sad story.
When Malfoy heard that Harry valued Slytherin, he became happy again.
Ah, child, your name was innocence!
Fortunately, Harry had transmigrated here. Otherwise, hearing Malfoy talk about Quidditch and houses would have left him completely at a loss.
Madam Malkin put a black robe on Harry, and it fit perfectly.
"Because new students are still growing, our robes are usually made a little longer and then tailored according to the situation. I didn't expect your school uniform to fit so perfectly," Madam Malkin said admiringly.
Harry lowered his head and looked at the robe. It was black, soft, neat, and comfortable to wear.
"Thank you, Madam. I like it very much." Then Harry bought the other clothes on the list and a pointed hat.
Malfoy suddenly said, "Look at that person by the door. I heard he's a servant at Hogwarts. He looks very stupid."
Harry frowned. It seemed changing Malfoy's spoiled and arrogant personality would take some time.
"His name is Hagrid. He is the Keeper of the Grounds at Hogwarts, not a servant. And what right do you have to call him stupid? At the very least, he doesn't talk badly about people behind their backs like a petty person." Harry spoke word by word in an extremely serious tone.
Although his voice was not loud, it carried a severe edge.
Malfoy looked at Harry's expressionless face. His face stiffened, and an unnatural look flashed through his eyes. For a moment, he had actually felt the same authority his father possessed.
Malfoy did not know what he was afraid of, but his voice suddenly lowered. "I am a petty person to begin with."
Harry: ...
I forgot. He doesn't understand what a petty person means.
Harry could only say calmly, "In any case, don't speak badly about anyone behind their back from now on."
"I understand." Then Malfoy suddenly came to his senses. "Why should I listen to you?"
Harry took the wrapped clothes and looked at Malfoy, smiling as he shook his head.
Then he suddenly reached out with both hands, pinched Malfoy's cheeks, and twisted them hard. "You're really not obedient at all."
Then he turned and left. Truly, he brushed off his sleeves after the deed, hiding both merit and fame!
Malfoy was still stunned, like a fallen leaf tossed about in the wind. When he came back to himself, fury flared in his eyes as he stared at Harry and Hagrid walking away.
At that moment, a couple entered the shop. The man had the same platinum-blond hair as Malfoy, combed with meticulous precision.
Lucius Malfoy looked at his son's reddened face and asked, "What happened to your face?"
"Nothing." Malfoy's eyes shifted as he refused to answer.
The elder Malfoy looked at young Malfoy for a while, then turned his gaze aside. His expression was thoughtful.
Harry began purchasing the other items.
He first went to Flourish and Blotts to buy books. The bookstore was truly chaotic. There were few shelves, and books were piled together all the way up to the ceiling.
But there were truly many books, of every kind. Some were leather-bound hardcovers as large as paving stones; some were silk-bound books the size of postage stamps; some were filled with strange symbols, while a few had no words at all.
Harry was drawn to a copy of Professor Wendel's Curses and Counter-Curses: Bewitch Your Friends and Befuddle Your Enemies with the Latest Revenges: Hair Loss, Buckled Legs, Tongue-Tying, and Many, Many More.
Now this was magic! It was far better than Avada Kedavra!
Harry's interest surged, and he picked out several more interesting spellbooks.
After buying the books he needed, he went to buy school supplies.
Quills, these looked nice. A dozen of them...
Parchment, the best quality. Ten pounds...
Color-changing ink, how interesting. Twenty bottles...
Scales, the best ones...
Telescope, the best one...
Cauldron, the most expensive one... Forget it, pure gold was too tacky. A silver one would do, nice and shiny...
Sigh, I don't want to be so arrogant either. But what can I do? I'm rich!
I was rich, and I was willful! I spoke for myself!
