Anse coveted the Mind Flayer's experience, but he did not rashly go out.

They were so cautious even with injured Professionals, let alone a stranger. If he rushed over to help, it would be hard to earn their trust immediately even if he revealed his identity as a Paladin.

Come to think of it, there was still a Mind Flayer imprisoned in Black Tower Prison.

He had originally been an Adventurer who came to Durag with Matthew. His name was Fulga. After being parasitized, he was locked in an Association prison before Anse later transferred him to the Black Tower.

Despite going without food or water for so many days, he had still successfully transformed into a Mind Flayer. But without brains to replenish himself, he could not grow any further and was extremely weak.

However, this newborn Mind Flayer was very clever. More than once, he had tried to draw Anse's attention, racking his brains to escape Black Stone Prison.

Anse ignored him completely. He neither killed him nor contacted him, merely observing in silence.

The cell was extremely sturdy. Even a fully grown Mind Flayer could not escape unless it seized the Scepter of Protection from his hand. Otherwise, even Plane Shift would be useless.

This was both his test subject and spare Experience Pool. Whenever he was just short of the experience needed to level up, he would kill it.

As he pondered, he controlled the Arcane Eye through the crowd and sent it flying into the wreckage of the Nautiloid Ship.

Before it could approach the floating Inverted Pyramid, a flash of spiritual light swept over it. The Arcane Eye was immediately revealed, then dissipated in an instant.

Before his vision vanished, several Spellcasters wearing court-style robes suddenly turned toward it, their gazes filled with vigilance.
