How Was It You?

Myconids were a group of intelligent, mobile fungal plants that lived in remote regions of the Underdark.

They suffered from heliophobia; direct sunlight caused them severe harm, and exposure for more than an hour could prove fatal.

Myconids were generally Lawful Neutral. They would not take the initiative to attack other creatures or Adventurers. When they encountered other living beings, they released rapport spores, allowing nearby creatures to communicate their thoughts through Telepathy.

Anse had never seen real myconids before, so he could not help studying them closely.

Individual myconids varied greatly in appearance. Some looked adorably silly, some ugly and strange, some shriveled, and some plump and foolish—

Weren't these ready-made guides? Anse signaled for the others not to approach and slowly descended. Then he discovered several unconscious Adventurers beside the myconids.

They had been placed on sleds made from mushroom caps, with more caps covering them from above like oversized sandwiches. They would have been hard to spot without getting close.

"This—" His heart skipped a beat, but he quickly realized something was wrong. "No, myconids are plants. They don't eat people."

The Dice spun slightly, and the target's information soon appeared:

Myconids were extremely weak in combat, so Myconid Kings used Animating Spores to animate Small and Medium corpses into Spore Servants to guard their homes.

Still doubtful, Anse tried to establish a mental connection with the myconids.

Myconids could not speak, and most of them did not understand Common. They could only communicate through Telepathy.
