In Harry's original understanding, the speed of light had been an important physical constant. By assuming that it was constant, people had developed entirely different views of space and time.
In a universe where the speed of light could not be surpassed, everything would change once civilization entered space. But in this world, time did not operate with "the speed of light" as its frame of reference. Therefore, taking normally observed space as the reference, the speed of light was not an insurmountable barrier.
At the very least, Harry had already confirmed that Psychic Communication had no delay. FTL Communication had been proven feasible.
Inside Odyssey Base, Harry walked alone through a metal corridor while Drones beside him methodically completed the final construction work.
The center of the passageway resembled a massive tunnel, wide enough for five Engineering Ships to travel side by side. Beside the ship passageway was a humanoid passageway leading to the station's residential modules.
The concept behind this passageway design was much like roads on Earth: vehicles in the middle, pedestrians on both sides. However, the main routes and resources used by ships belonged to different systems from the passageways and resources used by humans.
In other words, although ships and humans occupied the same Odyssey Base, they were like residents of two separate cities. In theory, no one would ever cross a ship passageway on foot.
Harry clenched his fist and felt no delay or anything unusual. Using the Psychic Network for communication truly enabled FTL Communication—indeed, instantaneous communication.
This was an extremely important prerequisite. It meant that even after entering space, the current social system would not suffer much difficulty adapting.
"Sir, I have taken over the space station. All communication protocols are functioning normally. Star Base can be activated at any time."
