In the operations room, the Spartans were eating melons—actual melons, grown in Alfheim, the first batch of alien crops cultivated on Earth.
As a crop from a magical world, it was rich in nutrients covering nearly every element humans needed to consume. For some reason, it continued to glow for a while after being picked. Besides being eaten directly, it was also excellent for making nutrient solutions.
Harry did not know whether it had any special effects beyond replenishing nutrition and banishing hunger, but it looked incredibly magical, so he added it to the Spartans' meal plan.
