The cockpit was a ring-shaped device. The Sovereign sat in driving seats on top of it, looking as though they were operating some new concept of unicycle. A display screen was attached directly in front of the ring.

At the sight of that screen, Borngaja froze for a moment. A Virtual Reality Pod at least placed people inside a virtual world, letting them experience something almost indistinguishable from reality.

But this thing... seemed more like the "arcade machines" from the previous century of human history. Though its technology was advanced, there was no question that this open design would always remind pilots that they were not actually on the battlefield.

Virtual training courses had covered the history of games and Virtual Reality training, so he could not quite understand it. Training efficiency in such an environment was not high; if they could not train properly, battle was out of the question.
