After the journey to Sakaar, Thor returned home once more, but Asgard now felt somewhat lifeless.
All the Asgardian warriors capable of and willing to resist had died in Hela's purge. This place was now nothing but a dead city.
"I never thought I would come back here," Valkyrie sighed.
"I've been to Alfheim. I thought Asgard would be even better than that—at the very least, it shouldn't have been like this," Blonsky said.
Outside the grand main hall, all of Asgard burned. Smoke filled the air, and there was not a single living person on the streets. The dead, however, stood guard outside the palace.
"There are heat signatures in the mountains. The people are gathered there, and Hela is moving toward them." Valkyrie pointed at the 3D Radar.
"Drop me at the palace. I'll lure her away," Thor decided immediately.
"And get yourself killed for nothing?" Valkyrie could not understand the plan.
"The people in the bunker are what matter. While I deal with Hela, you take them out of Asgard. Heimdall will meet you below."
The ship landed outside the palace. Thor dragged a large gatling out from inside, and the two of them secured the thing to the ship.
Besides the gatling, Thor had also brought out a set of armor that had once belonged to a Valkyrie.
Blonsky performed a pre-battle check on the Giant Plasma Cannon behind him, a habit he had developed back when he was still an ordinary soldier.
