A brown dwarf was a substellar object whose mass fell between that of the largest gas giants and stars. From that description alone, one could guess that it contained enormous energy, though it still fell far short of a true star.
That was indeed the case. A brown dwarf lacked the mass needed to sustain hydrogen nuclear fusion, but it could undergo fusion reactions involving slightly "heavier" deuterium and lithium. Its core contained more energy than an ordinary planet.
The surface temperature of such an object would not exceed 3000 K. In theory, its lowest temperature could even fall below 0 degrees Celsius.
Those traits greatly reduced the difficulty of drilling. After all, Osborn might not have been able to safely drill through a star yet, but a brown dwarf was still manageable.
Thanks to the star charts shared by the Star Sea Community, Harry identified a brown dwarf near Xandar. It lay two Hyperspace Lanes away from Xandar, making transportation relatively convenient.
"Surface temperature: 120 degrees Celsius. The probes show only convection on the surface. No stratification or chemical differentiation has occurred in the planet's outer layers..."
By every measure, this brown dwarf was an ideal incubation nest. Its core contained vast amounts of energy, while it also had enough matter and space for the embryo to grow vigorously.
Even the "construction" would not be difficult.
They only needed to alter Chibaku Tensei's output mode. The Light Lance could quickly pierce the outer layers and create a passage for deploying the embryo.
After passing through the Star Gate, the Enterprise needed to transfer through Sakaar, head to Xandar, then travel through the Hyperspace Lane to the target location. Without the Star Gate transfer, that journey would have taken a very long time. Now, however, it took only two days
