But now, it had fallen into a desperate situation.

Mark Watney was jolted awake by the mechanical announcement, shivering from the freezing air around him!
"Damn... what the hell—"
He remembered lying down in a virtual reality pod after boarding the ship... but the pod he was in was clearly a cryogenic chamber!
The hatch slowly opened, and Mark crawled out of the cramped cryogenic pod.
On the deck, five thousand cryogenic pods lay silently in place. Mechanical alarms echoed through the empty compartment, while the red warning lights blazed painfully bright.
Only he had woken up—the cold seemed to seep into his heart.
This place was like a massive morgue.
Trembling, Mark moved closer to the pod beside him. Through the transparent glass, he saw that the person inside was asleep just like him, except frost seemed to be spreading across their face...
That was not a good sign. A qualified cryogenic pod should have been completely sealed and operating stably!
"Is anyone there? What the hell is going on?!"
Mark shouted, hoping someone could explain everything, but unfortunately, no one told him what had happened.
"I can't just stand here..." Mark thought for a moment, then walked toward the passage door and placed his hand on the scanner.
"Good thing my biometric data still works..."
The passage opened, and Mark walked outside.
Other than the massive compartment holding the colonists, the Hyacinth did not have much usable space. Following the route from his memories, Mark headed toward the communal recreation compartment.
