"Enemy attack!"
Bang!
The rocket launcher fired from the ground and hit its target, but the small Soul-Eaters were utterly unaffected. Bullets and shells passed straight through their bodies as if they did not exist in this world at all.
Only the mages' magical Artifacts and Great Luo Heaven's Dragon Scale weapons could deal them fatal damage!
Strange casually bound a Soul-Eater with a magical whip and studied it closely.
"Phase Flicker. Those Soul-Eaters aren't native inhabitants of Great Luo Heaven either."
Frank, not far away, had noticed the issue as well. Conventional weapons could not hit these Soul-Eaters, yet in that first exchange alone, Riflemen had already had their souls sucked away!
Sparta could rely on his equipment to evade the Soul-Eaters' attacks, but more Riflemen had no way to resist these monsters!
Sweeping his gaze across the battlefield, Frank saw total chaos. Kamar-Taj's mages kept flinging little flying discs, Great Luo Heaven's people hid behind rocks and fired arrows, and the Riflemen were being chased all over the ground.
Frank shouted at Strange, "Mage! Can you have your people set up some kind of... barrier or something to defend against those monsters?"
Strange immediately understood what Frank meant—they appeared to be cooperating now, but in truth, they simply happened to be on the same battlefield and were not attacking each other. They needed genuine cooperation.
Dragon Scale weapons were highly effective against Soul-Eaters, but defense relied on so-called "martial arts." Kamar-Taj's spells were flexible and varied, and more importantly, they could make up for Great Luo Heaven's defensive weakness by constructing a large defensive formation.
"Of course—Kamar-Taj, form up!"
At the call, Kamar-Taj's mages swiftly gathered around Strange in squads.
Seeing the formation take shape, Frank darted across the battlefield to the other side, where Great Luo Heaven's
