Jabbakst was a member of the Xerox race. The name was a transliteration and originally had no meaning.
In the universe of Stellaris, they were the first race to achieve the Great Psionic Awakening. However, during their attempts to manipulate and utilize the Void Realm's energy, they split into two factions.
The "Ascension Faction" wanted to drain the resources of the entire universe to maintain and strengthen their influence and power over the Void Realm.
The "Gospel Faction," meanwhile, wanted to stop their plot. But they were too weak, and by the later stages of the war, the Ascension Faction had nearly secured victory.
So the Gospel Faction made a desperate gamble, burning themselves away to obtain a psionic substance later known as "Zro" and bolster their strength, gradually turning the tide.
The Ascension Faction had its own trump card as well—they launched a project known as "End of Reincarnation," intending to strengthen the Great Attractor at the center of the galaxy until it could devour the entire galaxy, or even the universe.
Facing this situation, the Gospel Faction resolutely burned their entire race to provide power to the last member of their faction. They sacrificed themselves to destroy the Ascension Faction and its plan in one stroke, defending that universe at the cost of their species.
And that last survivor was Jabbakst.

Jabbakst's emotions underwent a rare and violent fluctuation. Everything from that war seemed as vivid as if it had happened yesterday.
Time no longer held any meaning for it. Everything seemed to have happened only yesterday.

The Xerox race's actions were lamentable, but the Gospel Faction's willingness to defend the universe even at the cost of their entire race made Harry feel somewhat ashamed
