Long ago, there was a Multiversal War. Countless Timelines fought one another for supremacy, nearly destroying everything.
Then, the omniscient and omnipotent Time Keepers appeared.
They merged the Multiverse into a single Timeline, restoring peace.
This was the Sacred Timeline.

The TVA agent in front of Harry slammed her fist down on the table, as though she wanted to scare him this way.
But honestly, her fleshy face, coupled with the fury of "faith being violated," really was somewhat... frightening. More disgusting than anything, though.
"But sometimes, people like you deviate from the path laid out by the Time Keepers. Your actions bring chaos. Do you understand?"
"Ma'am." Harry leaned to one side. "You're blocking my view of this... educational video. Miss Minutes might get angry."
An old-fashioned wall-mounted television hung on the wall opposite Harry, playing an introduction to the Time Keepers and the TVA. It mainly explained the TVA's duties and necessity, as well as the concept of Time Criminals.
The one explaining all this was a virtual figure called Miss Minutes. She was very simply designed, with a clock face and limbs drawn in stick figure style.

"Before I even started talking to you, you'd already watched that thing dozens of times. If you actually cared about what it said, you should have understood it by now."
Every TVA agent regarded maintaining the Sacred Timeline as her duty, to the point of faith. This minor leader responsible for pruning Timelines in the field was even more so.
