Loki was somewhat unusual now. He had been taken away at the moment he failed in the Battle of New York.
Overall, in the entire timeline, he could still be considered "young." He had yet to go through the things that would break him—such as selfishly causing his own mother's death.
Originally, he would have been captured after the Battle of New York and sent to Asgard's dungeons. His anger toward Odin and Asgard would lead him to act as a guide when the Dark Elves invaded.
Because of his directions, the Invader went straight to Frigga's room and killed the Queen.
The younger Loki had been filled only with rebellion. He attributed every test, lesson, and arrangement from his parents to the Bloodline they had concealed from him. Because of that Bloodline, he could not become Asgard's king, could not be loved, and had been kept in the dark all along.
