In the central thunderstorm region, two figures moved through the wild forest as if on level ground, one chasing the other. The crystallized tree trunks were as hard as steel, but they amounted to nothing before these two violent maniacs. Wherever the chase went, crackling destruction followed.
Because Elementalization would draw concentrated lightning bombardment, Ron could only rely on his own two legs to chase the headless yet still lively Muscle Beetle ahead.
But...
How should he put it?
As expected of an insect?
When it lay flat on the ground and ran with all six legs, it was incredibly fast! Ron was shocked to discover that, even with his mastery of Rokushiki, he could not catch up. He could only barely keep from being left behind!
The current Ron was no longer the Ron of the past. Setting aside his vastly improved strength, even using Soru alone, he could run a hundred meters in three seconds!
Yet he still could not catch it at that speed!
Fortunately, the Muscle Beetle had lost the two appendages on its head that it used for digging, so it could not burrow underground to escape. Otherwise, Ron would have been completely stumped!
Even Muscle Beetles at the bottom of the wild forest's food chain could burrow and sprint like this. No wonder Hell Island was called hell.
Surviving here was extremely difficult!
Just as Ron was growing tired of the chase, the wild woods suddenly parted, revealing a cliff ahead.
Hell Island was enormous. Ron had traveled for three days, yet the distant mountains remained distant. Amid these towering ranges, cliffs were nothing unusual. The headless Muscle Beetle could not see the path ahead and merely charged forward blindly, on the verge of plunging over.
"Wait, plunging over?"
Ron's eyes suddenly lit up.
