"Fire!"
Rumble!
A brutal battle of attack and defense was raging across these waters—though, of course, it was brutal for only one side.
"Second and third squads, hard to port... Aim, fire!!"
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Cannons spat fire, and pitch-black Cannonballs traced arcs through the sky, forming a barrage as dense as a curtain before plunging headlong into the pirate ships and blasting them into fireworks.
"Damn it! What are you standing around for? Break through!"
King stood on the deck, directing the battle. His usually steady voice could barely conceal his fury.
It all began a day ago. Ever since they had encountered the Marine scouts, they had proceeded cautiously, constantly guarding against a possible Marine ambush.
Yet the expected ambush never came. The journey had been calm and uneventful.
Just as they were about to reach Totland's outskirts and begin their landing assault, several Railguns straight ahead left them completely disoriented.
Those terrifying shells, nearly two thousand meters long, tore straight through the entire fleet!
Even King himself had nearly been struck by one.
Seeing the unparalleled destructive power of those shells, King had been shaken for quite some time.
And that was not the end of it...
Watching the fleet suffer devastating losses under a single round of bombardment, King had immediately planned to advance through the air and destroy the Marine artillery positions along the coast.
But the moment he flew into the sky, the countless black dots beneath the sea stunned him. Disc-shaped objects floated beneath the azure waters.
They neither surfaced nor sank to the seabed, merely hovering in the middle. From the deck, they were difficult to notice.
"What are those?"
King had a bad feeling.
The next second, an out-of-control pirate ship gave him the answer.
