The scene shifts, and time moves to the second day.
After a bath and a night's rest, Huo Yuhao looked as handsome as ever.
He changed into the same uniform as the Sacred Hall Mages. The grayish-blue base color, along with some mysterious runes on the uniform's surface, gave him a more mystical aura.
He arrived at the center of the Sacred Hall, where Master Mordo stood with his hands behind his back, observing the Douluo Star Projection in mid-air.
"It seems you've made your own choice." Mordo turned and saw the mage uniform on Huo Yuhao, giving a slight smile. "Welcome to our ranks."
Huo Yuhao bowed slightly in respect, then asked, "Master Mordo, what should I do next? Or what should I learn?"
"Follow me." Mordo didn't answer immediately but led Huo Yuhao towards a passage deep within the Sacred Hall. They eventually reached the end of the passage, where three transparent crystal doors stood. However, the scenery outside each door was entirely different.
Outside the left door were churning sea waves, the middle door revealed a vast grassland, and the right door showed golden sand dunes.
In front of each of the three doors was a spherical device.
Huo Yuhao gazed at the vastly different landscapes outside the three transparent crystal doors, a hint of astonishment flashing in his eyes, but he remained silent.
Master Mordo approached the doors and turned the spherical devices in front of them. The scenery outside the three doors shifted, eventually turning into a misty light that converged towards the center.
At the same time, a passage formed by seven-colored radiance slowly appeared on the surface of the middle door.
"Go. Through this passage, you can reach the Core Sacred Hall, where you will receive training until you become a qualified mage."
Huo Yuhao looked at the seven-colored passage, which spun like a vortex, and stepped into it without hesitation.
The next moment, the scene switched again.
On a small plaza within a building complex full of ancient charm, a mysterious magic circle suddenly lit up on the ground.
Then, a seven-colored torrent descended from the sky, releasing immense energy that was then blocked by the magic circle that lit up around the small plaza.
When the seven-colored torrent dissipated, Huo Yuhao's figure appeared within it.
"Is this... the Core Sacred Hall?" Huo Yuhao looked around with a hint of confusion.
"Don't linger in the Teleportation Plaza, come here quickly." A gentle yet powerful voice sounded in Huo Yuhao's ear. He followed the sound and saw a bald old man in a mage uniform waving at him.
Huo Yuhao quickly walked over. The old man scrutinized him from head to toe, then turned around. "Let's go. I'll take you to register, and then I'll take you to see Gu Yi."
"Thank you!" Huo Yuhao walked alongside the old mage. Occasionally, passing mages in uniform would nod in greeting to the elder leading Huo Yuhao, and the latter would respond in kind.
"Who is Gu Yi that you mentioned?" Huo Yuhao asked.
The old mage glanced at him. "Venerable Gu Yi is the leader of all mages in the Sacred Hall, and also the current Supreme Mage."
"Supreme Mage?! To see a nobody like me?" Huo Yuhao looked somewhat bewildered.
The old mage gave a slight smile. "In the Sacred Hall, every mage's personality is equal. The Supreme Mage is not aloof. You just need to maintain respect."
Afterward, the old mage explained some of the precautions for newcomers to Huo Yuhao. They then arrived at an ancient and elegant hall in the core of the building complex and met the legendary Supreme Mage.
It was a figure emitting a calm and detached aura, whose age was impossible to discern. He wore simple, plain clothes without excessive decoration, yet seeing him inspired a sense of awe, like gazing upon a towering mountain.
"Thank you for your trouble, Master Ryze." Venerable Gu Yi nodded to the old mage, who bowed slightly and stepped aside.
Huo Yuhao's lips moved, and just as he was about to speak, Gu Yi smiled and handed him a cup of tea. "You've lost someone important, and you wish to find a way to save her through the power of magic?"
Huo Yuhao was taken aback. Just as he was about to speak, Gu Yi continued, "Don't worry, I don't have mind-reading abilities, nor have I seen the secrets within your heart. However, what we are about to discuss might not be suitable for your companions to overhear."
"What?" As Huo Yuhao's eyes widened, a slender finger pointed at his glabella.
"Hum!" The void trembled!
The golden phantom of the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm let out a screech as it was pulled out. The Ice Empress turned into an emerald green stream of light, colliding with an invisible barrier. The silvery-white immortal grass and the hazy beast soul scattered like falling leaves. Deep within, the phantoms of the sleeping gray-robed elder and the golden auspicious beast slowly emerged.
"My companions!" Huo Yuhao's eyes were bloodshot, his spiritual power erupting like a storm as he tried to retrieve them!
"Quiet." Gu Yi's voice was like melting snow from a mountain spring, cleansing the mind.
Seven copper coins flew from her sleeve, landing and transforming into a starlight cage that enveloped all the soul spirits. "Kamar-Taj's dimensional laws can nurture soul bodies. You don't need to worry."
"But the path of magic requires a pure soul vessel. Your soul ring system is incompatible with it. Since you've chosen to become a mage, they cannot remain within your spirit."
Huo Yuhao first lowered some of his defenses upon hearing this, then thought of something and was about to speak when Gu Yi spoke again, "In fact, I cannot enter the Underworld, nor can I bring her soul here."
Huo Yuhao's mouth twitched, and he looked at Gu Yi with a strange expression. "Don't you not have mind-reading abilities?"
"It's just that your reaction was too obvious," Gu Yi said calmly. "The power of magic can shape miracles, but mastering magic doesn't mean you can do as you please."
"I know you want to say you can pay the price for it... but every mage you've met has actually come here because of an unresolvable regret in their hearts."
"Moreover, the casting of most spells requires a price... Those unwilling to pay a price cannot embark on this path."
Huo Yuhao asked, "Then what price is needed to revive someone?"
"This involves the types of magic," Gu Yi explained patiently. "Some magic can be cast using one's own cultivated mana, just like the spell I used to separate them from your spirit."
"Some can be cast by borrowing cosmic energy. As guardians of this universe, we can borrow cosmic energy with almost no price to cast corresponding spells."
"For example, the Dimensional Gate, which facilitates travel, and the Illusion Space, which can divide reality."
Master Gu Yi continued her explanation, casually taking out a peculiar ring connected by two finger loops and handing it to him.
"But compared to one's own fully controlled energy, controlling cosmic energy requires the aid of a Suspension Ring."
The moment she finished speaking, Gu Yi pointed at the air beside her with her ring-wearing hand. The air about two meters away immediately showed a mirror-like reflection angle.
