Yugito looked a little pale. If the Two-Tails were released, she would die.
But she had the pride of a Cloud Village ninja in her bones. Even as Liao Wu's prisoner, she would never bow to him.
She stepped forward, standing tall and holding her back ramrod straight.
"Uchiha Ryobu, come on! Break my seal and free Matatabi!"
Inside Yugito's mind, the Two-Tails cried out to stop her. "Yugito, what are you doing? If the seal is broken, you'll die!"
"So what if I die? I'm a ninja of the Cloud Village. I'll never submit to tyranny!"
Yugito refused to show the slightest weakness.
Hikari stepped forward to plead on Yugito's behalf. "Brother, please don't kill Yugito."
"She's so pretty and kind. I want her to be my playmate."
Brother?!
The people from the Sand Village stared at Hikari in surprise.
Hikari looked exactly how they imagined a Uchiha clan member would: a slim, sharply defined face with cool, angular features.
With her thick, long black hair and the Uchiha Clan's high-collared coat, she looked at first glance like Liao Wu with longer hair.
Standing together, the two looked every bit the brother and sister.
Yet no one from the Sand Village had ever heard that Liao Wu had a biological younger sister.
They had only heard that Uchiha Mikoto, the wife of the Uchiha Police Force's captain, was Liao Wu's younger sister.
But she was his stepsister through a remarriage, not a blood relation.
Yugito cut Hikari's pleas short. "Hikari, don't waste your breath. I'll never bow to this evil Uchiha!"
Liao Wu looked at Hikari and Yugito. Hikari was younger than Yugito, but Yugito was not much older.
Seeing how close they were, he could tell that Hikari had become good friends with Yugito while he was away.
