After Minato left, the Akatsuki fell into chaos.

Now that Liao Wu was gone, many of them couldn't agree with Yahiko's theory of peace, and they were on the verge of leaving.
Liao Wu's Spore Clone stood on a Big Rock and gave a speech.
"Brothers, Leaf Village's goons have openly murdered Lord Yao Kanluo! Is there any justice left? Any law at all?"
"No!"
Ryobu's Clones chimed in, and the Akatsuki members blindly followed suit.
"This is how the Great Nations operate. This is how Leaf Village operates. The Land of Rain is a country that's always weeping."
"Why do we weep? Because the Great Nations treat our country like a Chess Piece, and the Great Ninja Villages treat our land like a battlefield."
"Are we going to keep putting up with this? Are we going to keep silent?"
"Never!!"
As the Akatsuki members watched the Spore Clones, a fire ignited in their hearts.
"The endless strife in the Ninja World comes from the wars waged by the Five Great Nations. They turned the Land of Rain into ruins and left us with our homes and families destroyed."
"The Land of Rain must free itself from the Great Nations' control, or it will surely perish."
The Spore Clone changed course, draped a piece of cloth over his head, and pulled out a pile of Explosive Tags.
"Peace isn't something you're given. You have to seize it. Only when the Great Nations feel fear will they think about peace."
"Only when the world feels pain, when the Great Nations feel pain, will they understand how precious peace is."
