Frieza smiled. "But we can't afford to be careless. That guy and Vegeta really are getting stronger by the minute. Still, with my power now, killing you would be effortless. Before you die, I'll let you witness my Ultimate Strength."
Vegeta and the others heard Frieza and grew very worried. "Ultimate... what does that mean?" Frieza told them, "This is a Super Discount! You'll get to experience a terror beyond anything in hell. This is the real me."
Krillin had already imagined what Frieza would look like after transforming. He'd pictured every kind of demon and monster. Now the air had gone quiet. It was the calm before the storm.
Then Frieza began to transform. Holes appeared in the ground, and air kept rushing out of them, as if Frieza were pressing down on a balloon—or on the earth itself. Even the ground couldn't withstand the sight of Frieza transforming.
Vegeta and the others were frantic. "There's still time! Hurry, attack!" Tien Shinhan hesitated too. "H-how can this be?" But when he looked at Frieza, he steeled himself. "Damn it! If I'm going to die, so be it!"
As he spoke, he threw a punch at Vegeta, but Vegeta knocked him down with a single move. "That's not enough! Release more energy! Can't you do it, you brainless idiot, you bald moron?"
Vegeta was furious and was about to strike Tien Shinhan when, in a fit of anger, Tien Shinhan fired a Super Dodon Ray straight through Vegeta's body.
Vegeta wasn't angry. He was delighted. "Th-this is it! I can finally become... a Super Saiyan..." Then Vegeta fell to the ground.
Goku saw Tien Shinhan badly injure Vegeta and had no idea what was going on. "Tien Shinhan, why? Why did you attack Vegeta?"
