At the summit of the snow-covered mountain, Goku, Chen, and Piccolo were still training. The three of them sparred, attacking one another to improve their defensive and offensive abilities.
Since Goku still hadn't transformed into a Super Saiyan, Chen and Piccolo were attacking him together. They had to bring out Goku's Saiyan form so they could uncover the potential within him.
The two of them showed no mercy at all, and their attacks were incredibly fierce. With Goku's current strength, he was nowhere near capable of fighting Chen and Piccolo at the same time.
As expected, Goku lost. The two of them sent him crashing down the mountainside. But the saying "strict teachers produce outstanding students" was always true. Seeing how exhausted Goku looked, Piccolo said, "That's enough for today!"
Goku was covered in injuries, but when he heard Piccolo's words, he still felt a surge of fighting spirit he hadn't been able to release. After all, he was a Saiyan too, and he wasn't one to back down from a fight. "Train me a little longer! I have to get stronger!"
"I have to become a true Saiyan. I have to transform into a Saiyan! I lost the battle against Frieza, but I can't lose any future battles. Chen and Piccolo, I hope neither of you will hold back against me."
Yamcha was also training hard. He was staying at Bulma's house, practicing in the backyard. With the spaceship right in front of him, he thought, Vegeta started training in the gravity chamber at [illegible] times normal gravity right from the beginning.
The scene shifted to Vegeta. He was training in the [illegible]-times-gravity chamber that Bulma's father had adjusted for him. He'd started out using [illegible] times normal gravity, which was far more intense than Chen's training had been.
