"Coroner, what is this?" The magistrate studied the object before him carefully, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't make sense of it.
"Your Honor, I found this among the body parts. It doesn't look like a part of a person, yet it was mixed in with the remains. It seemed suspicious, so I brought it for you to examine."
"That's the monster's fang!" Ye Chen had also spotted the sharp object. He recognized it at a glance.
"Oh? A fang?" The magistrate looked at Ye Chen strangely. "Are you making this up to clear yourself of the crime, and did you plant this thing among the body parts?"
Ye Chen shook his head helplessly. It seemed the magistrate had already decided he was guilty, which was why he kept hounding him. Ye Chen knew that no matter what he said, the magistrate wouldn't believe him.
"Reporting! We've thoroughly searched Baozi Shop, and we found... Ugh." A constable rushed in from outside, shouting something as he came, but the moment he entered the hall, his words died in his throat.
Then he began retching violently.
The magistrate frowned at the several pools of vomit on the floor. He, too, felt a little sick. His face went from green to red, then back to a purplish green. In the end, he managed to suppress the urge to vomit.
"What did you find? Hurry up and tell me." The magistrate just wanted to finish the case as soon as possible, then leave the courtroom and go wash the smell off himself.
"We... found... found some unidentified meat in Baozi Shop, along with some bones that looked like human bones." The constable retched as he spoke. Even Ye Chen, kneeling beside him, felt queasy.
"Coroner, go with him and examine the
