The two demons gave a wicked laugh, then shoved the bloodied heart into their mouths. Ye Chen couldn't help gagging at the sight.
"Haha, humans really are cowards. We eat one of your kind, and you're already scared stiff. If it were your turn to be eaten, wouldn't you wet your pants?" Wild Bull Spirit laughed, looking toward Ye Chen.
The firelight reflected in Wild Bull Spirit's eyes, but there was nothing gentle in it; instead, they gleamed with menace. With blood still dripping from the corner of his mouth, he looked like an evil spirit.
Ye Chen's heart tightened. He was worried that after eating human flesh, Wild Bull Spirit would become even more vicious, come over, and eat him next. So he quickly lowered his head, not daring to look anymore.
Wild Bull Spirit chuckled, his laughter echoing through the cave, eerie and sinister. Ye Chen turned to look at Tang Sanzang again and saw that Tang Sanzang was watching him too, his gaze perfectly calm.
"Aren't you afraid?" Ye Chen asked softly, in a voice only the two of them could hear.
Tang Sanzang merely gazed at Ye Chen, saying nothing for a long time. His stare made Ye Chen feel baffled, so he simply turned away and stopped looking at him.
Still, having someone stare at him was deeply uncomfortable. Ye Chen turned around from time to time and found Tang Sanzang still watching him, as if possessed.
"Hey, what's wrong with you? Did you get scared out of your mind?" Ye Chen asked quietly again. This time, Tang Sanzang finally spoke.
"You are not an ordinary mortal, are you?" Tang Sanzang suddenly asked, leaving Ye Chen completely puzzled. "Why are you asking that? Are you hoping the demons will eat me so you can escape?"
