"Sun Wukong! You'll die a horrible death!" The shopkeeper's shrill voice echoed through the hall. Sun Wukong suddenly looked up and turned toward her.
"Wait." Sun Wukong rose with a grin, walked down from the dais, and stopped in front of the baozi shop owner. "What did you just say about me?"
"You tricked me and lied to me! You'll die a horrible death!" The shopkeeper struggled in the hands of the underworld guards. At that moment, she wanted nothing more than to sink her teeth into Sun Wukong.
"Haha! That's the funniest joke I've heard since I attained enlightenment." Sun Wukong clutched his stomach and burst out laughing. "I'll die a horrible death? Go ask heaven and earth—who could actually kill me?!"
"Ahhh!" The shopkeeper's piercing shriek stabbed at Ye Chen's ears. But he was protected by his magic, so the sound didn't bother him. The old couple beside him, however, were affected.
