After giving a cold snort, Sun Wukong pulled the Adamantine Staff from his ear.
"I'll say it one more time! Are you coming out or not?"
He barked angrily, but the tightly shut doors remained silent.
Sun Wukong stopped wasting words. He swung the Golden Cudgel, making it whistle through the air.
"Grow!" he roared. The Golden Cudgel instantly grew a hundred times thicker. Boom! The iron staff, weighing thirteen thousand five hundred catties, slammed squarely into the gate of Yun Zhan Cave. Like an egg being struck, the two doors were smashed into pieces in a cloud of dust.
Sun Wukong shrank the Golden Cudgel back to its original size, let out a breath, and prepared to enter the cave.
"Ye Chen, stay close," he called over his shoulder. But Ye Chen's expression had gone blank.
"Hey, I'm talking to you! Cat got your tongue?"
Ye Chen's blank expression turned to terror. Trembling, he raised a hand and pointed ahead. Sun Wukong followed his finger toward the pitch-black cave. Two red dots, like lanterns, had appeared inside. Before Sun Wukong could make sense of them, the two lanterns became four, then four became eight.
In an instant, the dark cave was filled with those red dots.
Sun Wukong wasn't about to fear these monsters and demons. He was someone who could come and go freely from the underworld. He had just started forward to investigate when the red lights made the first move.
They shot out of the cave with startling speed.
Only under the moonlight did Ye Chen finally see what the red lights really were: a monstrous bird with nine heads bursting from the cave. Its body was pitch-black, and it beat two enormous wings as it tangled with Sun Wukong. One gaping maw lunged to bite
