Goku and Little White waited patiently inside Inspiration Temple. Before long, a fierce wind howled, followed by waves of approaching footsteps. Goku and Little White grew alert.
Goku hid the Golden Cudgel behind the offering table. As soon as the monster stepped into the temple, Little White cast a spell to shut the doors. Goku grabbed the Golden Cudgel and swung it down at the monster.
The monster raised an arm to block the blow, but when he saw the Golden Cudgel, he immediately retreated. Little White was waiting behind him. A greatsword came down, and several of the monster's scales fell away.
Knowing he was no match for them, the monster leaped up, smashed through the temple roof, and flew away.
Goku pursued him, but saw the monster dive into Tongtian River.
Goku wasn't familiar with swimming, so he didn't pursue him into the water. Little White was about to follow when Goku stopped him. "That's enough for today. It's enough that we know where he came from."
Now that Goku knew the monster was from Tongtian River, he and Little White rode clouds back to Chen Family Village.
When they returned to the village, Goku said, "That monster came from Tongtian River. Little White and I fought him, but he realized he was no match for us and ran away. He should be injured now. Little White landed a sword strike and cut off these scales."
With that, he took out the scales. Ye Chen took them and said, "These are Golden Scales from Guanyin's Pure Water Platform. It seems that old nun Guanyin was behind this."
Goku nodded and continued, "The monster was injured today, so he probably won't come back anytime soon. Tell the villagers not to worry."
