After putting out the fire, Sun Wukong said happily, "Master, the fire's out. We can go now."
When Tang Sanzang and the others heard this, they set off and crossed the Flaming Mountain.
Just then, Ye Chen suddenly said to Sun Wukong, "Look how bare and ugly the Flaming Mountain is now that the fire's been put out. There aren't any plants, either. Go to the town we just passed and tell the people there that they can cultivate this land now. I hope they can turn this barren mountain into a valuable, lush green landscape."
Sun Wukong thought that made a lot of sense. He rode a cloud to the town by the mountain and told the mayor. After hearing him out, the mayor thanked them profusely, saying, "Certainly, certainly! By the time you come back, this place will be a beautiful, lush green landscape."
After the fire was out, Sun Wukong returned the fan to Princess Iron Fan. She took it, recited an incantation, and shrank it until it was the size of a leaf, then held it in her mouth.
